Hawaiian Night, St. Mary’s Chopped, raffles and more to be featured

Attendees at St. Mary’s Annual Summer Festival at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 320 E. Washington Ave., Tomahawk, can expect both old traditions and new events at this year’s rain-or-shine event, held on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.
The fun kicks off Friday with Mark Wayne, the “One Man Band,” providing entertainment from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. New this year, Friday night is “Hawaiian Themed Night,” with a roasted pig (and hot dogs for the kids) being served from 4 p.m. until gone. Beer, soda and the famous Pie Garden will also be available. Prizes will be awarded for the best Hawaiian Costume.
Trivia will also be featured Friday, with Senior Trivia taking place from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by Generation X trivia from 7 to 10 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at both events.
Saturday’s activities start with “Touch a Truck” being held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Also starting at 3 p.m., the Inflatable Obstacle Course, along with a different craft activity for the kids every 30 minutes, will be featured until 6 p.m. The St. Mary’s Chopped cooking competition begins at 4 p.m. Hamburgers, brats and hot dogs (with all the fixings), a salad smorgasbord, beer, soda and the famous Pie Garden will be available.
The raffle drawings will begin at 8:30 p.m. with the Family Baskets Drawing (ticket must be present to win), followed by the Big 8 Raffle (need not be present to win) and the Cash Raffle, with bigger payouts, held at 9:30 p.m. (need not be present to win). Many more raffles will be held during the evening both nights.
