Re: Gun Control Law Proposals

I came late to this party but I must at least applaud the discussion, vehement as this type of discussion can be. I also applaud that you present some 'real' solutions and while the applicability and effectiveness can be debated, as we are here, it is at least refreshing to hear something other than...

Re: Osama

I don't know how I feel. On the one hand I am glad he is gone. He was a criminal first and foremost. I think he should have been brought to justice in a court of law, but sometimes that can't happen for any number of reasons. I am proud of the SEAL team 6 that once again conducted a high priority mi...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Ok.. maybe I am just not understanding the problem here, but according to the US Bureau of Labor statistics press release of 21 Jan 2011 (http://www.bls.gov/news.release/union2.nr0.htm), Union membership only accounts for 11.9% of the total workforce in the USA, and is in rapid decline from years pa...

Of course if you put the animal on a leash as is required in the city of Tomahawk, this is a moot point.

grrrrr.... I was on vacation, however, not in England. I most certainly didn't get mugged and don't need emergency money. Re: What's going on with the Tea Party?

Interesting to see prominent Democrats 'retiring' rather then face the public ire in a general election. Could be conicidence, but I don't think that Mr. Obey, who has been a Washington icon for years, would willingly step aside at the high point of his career... Just sayin' 8)

Sadly, Dr. Durkes' wife and family were involved in a motor vehicle crash with a City of Wausau Transit bus and his 1 year old daughter did not survive her injuries.

Details can be found Here

Please keep the entire family in your prayers during this most difficult time.

Try actually being in Iraq, seeing the news happening right out in front of you, and then that same day, while watching the mainstream media that Brittney/Paris/Lindsey is the lead story in the USA.

Don't even get me started.....

Re: How else are we going to protect the children?

This sounds like some of the insane and sick propaganda of the NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) organization. They flood forums and chat rooms with these types of posts in a lame attempt to sway public opinion and legitimize their 'right' to have relations with underage children. Oft...

Re: Severe weather in Midwest and Wisconsin - concerned

We are riding high and dry at the moment. Tomahawk and environs have suffered through lots of rain, wind, and even some record hail storms, but (Knock wood) nothing more severe then that. No flooding, but river levels and lakes are raised slightly. So far so good.. Once nice thing is that the spring...

I would tend to agree that justice was not served in this case. I am all in favor of forgiveness and rehabilitation, however, this is not a one way street. By violating the terms of his plea agreement the charges should be reinstated and a hearing as to more appropriate sentencing should be conducte...

Lake Alice still remains one of the area's great producers of Bluegill, Crappie, walleye, and smallmouth bass. The last few years have seen some great muskys being caught as well as a consitent level of nice Northern pike. It is still mine and many others favorite place to fish.

Coming home from Iraq

Greetings Tomahawk! Well after 366 days of fun, sun, and sand (it almost sounds desirable) I am soon to be on my way home. I would like to thank those that have sent me e-mails, care packages, birthday cards, and generally have supported me since leaving Tomahawk over a year ago. I have served my ti...

As strange as it sounds, I for one support the idea of a "None of the above" vote on election days. I am tired of watered down candidates and choosing between the "lessor of two evils." If this is truly a government of the people, by the people and for the people, we should have ...

Exemplary Service Award - Iraq
