Re: Boy Scout decision on membership

It's amazing the amount of hysterical bulls*** that gets claimed as "common sense". Fortunately, the narrow-minded lunacy expressed in the above posts is a part of a dying breed of segregation and scared senselessness.

Re: Wheel Tax

The registration fees go for trail development and not highways. Hey, does that mean I can drive my Jeep on their trails? :) I am glad I am not the only one who uses my ATV for what it was intended. No License, no insurance, no turn signals, no seat belts, no passenger protection, yes they are real...

Re: Harley layoffs

Unions were absolutely needed at one time. That time has passed as they've become too powerful and just as heinous as any corporation.

Re: Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce

I agree Kerry, I think the worst thing that happened to Tomahawk was the 1983 bypass...Here is a DOT website, and the follow up doesn't even have them looking into the tourist or economic impact to Tomahawk. http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/library/publications/topic/plans/bypass.pdf Sigh... Why is the word money in quotes? Are you implying that the school really isn't saving money?

Re: School days

The original point of this post was that I feel that the 10 minutes a day to make up 5 days is a joke. There is nothing funny about math. ;) 10 minutes x 5 days per week = 50 minutes per week 50 minutes per week x 35 weeks per school year = 1750 hours per school year 1750 hours = 29 hours, 10 minut...

Re: FALL RIDE

Perhaps if business is down then the businesses need to think of additional ways to draw the bikers to them. I'm guessing Bubba is putting a lot of time and money into getting people to his events, there's nothing that prevents the businesses from doing more to promote as well... Sure they can. Ste...

Comparing Walmart and Shopko, what are Shopko's business practices? Are their workers in a union? Do employees get health benefits? Do they hire mostly full time workers or do they hire a lot of part timers so they don't have to give benefits? Overall, I need to know more. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=shopko

Re: State budget impact on education, local schools

Well, I guess it is not hard to see how Mr. Rindo feels about St. Mary's school. That is a shame considering that St. Mary's has provided the Tomahawk school system with some of its top performers over the years. Perhaps he plans on applying to another school district that does not have any private ...

Re: ATV's on the streets

Looking for flaws in vehicle standards is like looking for Illinois plates in Minocqua; they're pretty easy to find. A person can take and pass the state driver's license test in a Fiat 500. With that license, and no other training, they would be legal to drive a Pickup with a pull behind camper and...

I'd be willing to bet iPads aren't allowed during tests. You'd still have to buy the calculator. Also, the testing results you quoted were based on Kindergarten students. I stated earlier that I believe interactive programs on tablets would be benificial to younger (grade school) students. However, ...

So because a lot of people choose to use something as a toy we shouldn't teach your young the tools that will be used in future careers? Yes, for an experimental program that may or may not be supported by (immediately) future administrations, a piece of technology that is more widely used and unde...
