Re: What are the odds?

I just contacted a certain senator that I admire about the issues you raised, Jeff. I'm interested to see what he has to say about the current campaign issues. I'd like to raise a question that's spawned from the whole "sound clip" idea. Maybe it should be its own thread, I'm not sure. How...

Re: Eco-Friendly Living

I have heard that about Ethanol. My faith in it is due mainly to the fact that it's a relatively new concept, and that with more research, it might be possible to find a more efficient way to produce it. I agree with you about wind and fuel cell technology. Nuclear is still scary to me, after seeing...

Re: What are the odds?

My bad. I was just going off the top of my head with that one. I thought both the Roosevelts were Rep.'s. Either way, Teddy was a good man. Way to use one mistake to disregard the rest of the points. As for Feingold, I think you're going a little overboard in your assumptions. I don't think he wante...

Re: Eco-Friendly Living

Excellent post, Jeff. One of the fundamental problems in "going green" is that it's so expensive. My personal feeling with hybrid cars is that they're only delaying the inevitable. If fossil fuels are essential to make them go, it's only a matter of time before they can't go anymore. I thi...

Re: What are the odds?

I'm sure when the U.S. was going nuts and ready to get blood on their hands, Feingold was contemplating ways to get in the paper. Instead of taking the Republican path of making bad decisions in airport bathrooms, he decided to stand up for civil liberties that our country was based on. If you want ...

Re: Eco-Friendly Living

I read up on it. I was enlightened to the fact that the U.S. didn't want to reduce carbon emissions because China didn't have to. I've heard similar arguments before, mostly from children who had a gripe about older siblings being able to stay up later. What it comes down to is that reducing emissio...

Also. Maybe look into this map on the positions regarding the Kyoto Protocol.

Re: Eco-Friendly Living

Actually, I do believe that "BS" about the States being the worst polluter. True, third world industrial countries like India and China don't have pollution standards. However, we have "standards" that are catered to our needs. We have way more toys than the average Chinese famil...

Re: What are the odds?

I've always been a big supporter of Russ Feingold. He gave the only NO to the Patriot Act at a time when it was obviously not fashionable to do so.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida (AP) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group Tuesday that he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles. "I think Americans are actually willing to sacrifice," Edwards said during a forum held by the Inte...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

Wait....it's kosher to smoke pot at outdoor concerts? I was always under the impression that that sort of thing was illegal everywhere. That's a big pet peeve of mine. I go see The Dave Matthews Band at Alpine Valley every summer, and as soon as the bands start playing, a funny smell creeps along th...

if you're willing to pay the tremendous fine if you get caught, you can take off your muffler and use a broom handle to break out the guts of your catalytic converter. a former employer told me all about it.

Re: WJJQ Trading Mart

Remember when the meteorite fell a few months ago? Man. I laughed really hard listening to everybody call in to trading mart the next day. I don't think they sold anything. Everybody was calling in and speculating where the meteor fell. It was like something out of The Andy Griffith show.

WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS SEEING ALL THESE YOUNG GIRLS WITH THESE TATOOS ON THEIR BUTTS. YOU SEE THEM IN THE MALLS WITH THERE LOW SLUNG JEANS AND ABOUT HALF OF A TATOO SHOWING.
i like to call that kind of tattoo "the tramp stamp."

we haven't had a new topic in a while, so i figured i'd break the monotony by talking about tattoos. What do you folks think of this form of body art? As a tattooed man myself, i'm a big fan. I hope to get quite a few more over the next few years. Any other fans of mixing skin and ink?

Re: Just for baby

Of course i walk to these places. I'm a big fan of not being a stupid drinker, and with all the bars within a mile of my house, it just makes sense. I can burn off the calories, and sidewalks offer plenty of straight lines to stay coordinated with. And my mom knows i'm responsible when i drink. At l...

I say we call Tuesday the new holiday. With $1.50 top shelf drinks at Mabel Murphy's, it's easy to get drunk and act stupid. And there are plenty of dart boards for everyone.
