Re: Being American

Was Timonthy Mcveigh a terrorist? He was given his rights because he's a US citizen. And he caused a lot more damage. So, just because this kid is a Muslim he should be treated differently? That doesn't sound like America to me.

More Bad News for Scott

Some recent articles if you haven't seen them: 1) "Unfortunately, the U.S. Chamber, in a report released at the event, didn’t share Walker’s enthusiasm. Its annual scorecard on state economies ranked Wisconsin 44th for overall economic performance and 50th — as in dead last — for short-term job...

Re: State budget impact on education, local schools

Well, I guess it is not hard to see how Mr. Rindo feels about St. Mary's school. That is a shame considering that St. Mary's has provided the Tomahawk school system with some of its top performers over the years. Perhaps he plans on applying to another school district that does not have any private...

You can ride a bicycle on any street. It's probably easier to see/hear an ATV than a bike. Look before you back-up, turn, etc. and it shouldn't be a problem.

why can rifle hunters enter woods w/practically unlimited ammo when waterfowl hunters are limited to three shells in shotgun? Second, there is a reason you don't here about mass shootings that were stopped. They were stopped. OK, we can quit the name calling and aggressive tones. I'm as guilty as anybody. But your quote above is exactly why I don't agree that "more guns on the street = safer streets". I know for...

Re: Gun Control Law Proposals

Hey, you want a "normal" rifle, fine by me. Honest question for you: If my rifle was .22 caliber, had open rear and front sights, had a positive "on-off" safety, had a detachable box magazine that held 7 rounds, had plastic forearm and stock, and was semi-auto.....would that be ...

why can rifle hunters enter woods w/practically unlimited ammo when waterfowl hunters are limited to three shells in shotgun? Re: Gun Control Law Proposals

Hey, you want to go hunting with a "normal" rifle, go grouse hunting with a shotgun, shoot squirrels off your back porch with a .22, have a handgun in your home for self-defense - fine by me. But I have never heard of a situation when a person in public pulls out a gun and actually stops a...

Re: Gun Control Law Proposals

There's a pretty big difference between having a gun at home for self-defense (which I support) and having armed people pull out guns in the middle of a public place because of some argument and shooting an innocent bystander.

Ken, unfortunately A LOT of people feel that way. It was just discussed on the New York Times today. Here's an excerpt: "The last four years have been an extended exercise in Republican denialism: This cannot be. This isn’t happening. If you’re really the president, show us your papers. Imagina...

Re: Quit trashing President Obama's accomplishments.

A better solution for the United States and all of its citizens would be if Dems/Repubs would work together to solve some problems. But that is the last thing Republicans want while Obama is in office. Since Obama took office the Republicans #1 priority has been to say "No" to everything s...

And not only is this list full of lies, contains no references, and is incredibly misleading on several points, but #32 displays just how racist and ignorant the far right of the Republican party is today.

Nice list of lies (not surprising consider your nominees for pres/vp). At least you made it long enough that I don't have the energy to go through and refute them, I'll give you credit for that foresight.

You're right. If you go anywhere on the internet this morning besides FoxNews or other implicitly right wing websites, what everyone is talking about is that Paul Ryan's speech was full of lies. Nothing new for a Republican politician from Wisconsin... Attributing the closing of the Janesville plant...

I agree with most of what you said, Old Scout. However, I do believe the war on public sector unions by the WI GOP does have an impact on private sector unions. It has created an environment where unions are evil. Union "bosses" and their "thugs" are talked about like the mafia n...

Who delivers your newspapers? I'm pretty sure the postman does, unless you recently started to employ a private army of delivery people. And, what roads do they drive on when they deliver your papers? The ones built by yourself or by the government? And how do we even have this message board to writ...
