Re: Boy Scout decision on membership

So, do you believe gay couples shouldn't adopt children, or they shouldn't be school teachers, work in hospitals, community service for example? That's what you are saying. Gays, or lesbians are NOT pedophiles, and live, work and breathe in every aspect of life, even yours, and have been here since th...

Re: Boy Scout decision on membership

So in your world all gay people are child molesters and pedophiles? Exactly what is wrong in this world, uneducated and no tolerance. Being gay is not illegal, being a pedophile is.

Re: Boy Scout decision on membership

Yes, but a huge difference between being gay and being a pedophile. The 2 are not related in any way.

Re: Boy Scout decision on membership

I believe a few of these would mean acceptance for all gay or straight. A Scout is TRUSTWORTHY. A Scout tells the truth. He keeps his promises. Honesty is part of his code of conduct. People can depend on him. LOYAL. A Scout is true to his family, Scout leaders, friends, school, and nation. HELPFUL....

Re: Your thoughts on downtown mid-block turns

I agree with Old Scout on this one. It's an illegal U-turn everyplace else you drive, why should this get an exemption? It's teaching new drivers a bad habit that could kill someone. I don't think an extra 30 seconds is crucial to anyone, nor traffic warranting that that spot will be taken if you dr...

Re: Business Opportunity

I have been using the Non OEM compatible brands for over a decade, and I believe twice had an issue, and they sent a replacement out right away AND did not have to return, they just replaced it for free. For my business I go through about a case of paper every 1-2 months and a few legal reams every ...

Re: Business Opportunity

Actually the real world...I run a high speed Brother printer (mfc-L5800DW) for example. Online I can find my (off brand compatible) toner for Between $10-12.00 each unit for 8,000 pages off e-Bay or Amazon, and cheaper if I buy 3 or more...cases of letter paper $28.00 a case if not less with a rebat...

Re: What ever happened to Fulsher School?

By definition: A township is a division of a county, while a town is a populated area with less people than a city but more than a village. Townships are generally much larger than towns and usually contain many towns and villages within their geographical limits. Then Lincoln county should do somet...

Re: What ever happened to Fulsher School?

So public records should show who is responsible, and if not zoned for a junk yard, the city should start sending out notices and have it cleared up. Not only is it an eye sore, but a public health hazard if you have leaking oil and chemicals from whatever he's dumping in there the past 40 years. I'...

Re: What ever happened to Fulsher School?

Just my guess is it's not in city limits, and probably since it was a school, the city still owns it, so they do what they will until people complain. It would be nice to see the bricks perhaps recycled into something nice or sold, and torn down and then the lot could be sold.

When I went there, it was grades, 1-4. It was so lovely. Mrs. Allard still teaching, and was 2nd grade at that time. She must had been 80 then! Christmas time we would paint the angels and snowmen on all the windows. It had so much history, sad the historical society didn't see it's potential and tr...

Re: Stupidity at colleges

It is called the Right of Free Speech, and has been going in college campuses for many decades, especially in CA. All students have the right to rally as long as it is done within the guidelines set forth and a peaceful manner. Don't forget, students pay the salaries of the professors, and the footb...

Re: What happened to Thank you

I have to disagree with you Old Scout. When I approach a line to check out, they say "hello, how are you doing today?" and then do the transaction and most of the time say "have a nice day" or whatever holiday it is. I see no need for them thanking me. It is sort of like people s...

I found a website on strategies to transform a city's downtown area. Maybe Tomahawk could get some idea's here. http://urbanscale.com/blog/12-strategies-will-transform-citys-downtown/ I especially liked #6, #7,#4 I understand this is for a larger city, but I think has some good basics that could hel...

Re: Can Tomahawk be reborn again?

Your'e right Ken. That is the way I remember it, BEFORE the bypass. Hwy 51 took you into town by the Alamo Plaza, head north until you hit the Bradley Bank, information booth, turn right along the main drag, turn left down 4th street over the bridge and then head either to Rhinelander or to Minocqua...

Go Digital or Go Dark

Granted, it has been a good many years since I have been to Tomahawk and the theater, and sad to see it going. It was the focus on many of Friday and Saturday nights growing up and first dates. It is charming, small, but seriously has some potential of making a good go of it, but will need to confor...

Re: Nation shaped by religious principles

I respect this extra long post however, I believe we are a nation of free wills and beliefs for the modern society of today. Back when our founding fathers came together, that was "their" moral compass, not necessarily all of ours for the 21nd century. They feared God more than knowing him...

Re: Changes in the electoral college vote

Your still not understanding my point. I would omit states votes all together. Let an individual vote count. You have a 24 hour window to cast your vote via computer using your SS number or pin. A person in Rhode Island's vote means just as much as the single vote in CA. In the end you tally up the ...
