Re: Strip rights, then clothes

We heard back today (March 1) regarding Lincoln Hills. We should have an update on the LHS incident, we're told, in about two weeks.

Meanwhile, we did get information regarding the new overtime policy at the facility and will be publishing a story on that in the March 6 Tomahawk Leader.

Re: Strip rights, then clothes

So you know: We have had a good contact at the state Department of Corrections who has answered questions whenever we've asked them, particularly during the time decisions were being made on whether to keep Lincoln Hills open. To me it’s not funny

A Letter to the Editor in the Jan. 17, 2012, Tomahawk Leader. My name is Keagan and I am eight years old. I am very sad that the warming house at the outdoor ice skating rink was burned. The kids who lit the garbage can thought it was really funny, but to me it’s not funny. The warming house is very...

Embarrassing state

Guest comments in the Jan. 24, 2012, Tomahawk Leader: By Maureen Busalacchi Once again, Wisconsin is number one. But this time, we’re number one in binge drinking. This isn’t just embarrassing, it borders on social pathology. And we need to act. Last week’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention...

Kind of surprised. The first line of this thread clearly states this item came to us from AFSCME and that we were looking for public reaction. It noted we would do a separate news story for the upcoming paper. This is not what ran in our newspaper and placement here is "on the Internet" - ...

Campground in Bradley Park?

The city of Tomahawk Park and Rec Committee is gathering data on a possible campground in Bradley Park. The idea came out of public planning sessions that addressed the underutilization of the park and a potential revenue stream. (There's a story in the Nov. 8, 2011, Tomahawk Leader.) There is vocal...

From a recent Ups-n-Downs column by Publisher Larry Tobin: Here is by far the simplest explanation of our country’s financial mess that I’ve seen yet.
