Re: John Kerry & John Edwards enjoy attacking family and

I cannot imagine living in a country governed by the likes of John Kerry.
Well, you'll have the next eight years to get used to it... ;)

Re: Larry, about your editorial...

The Swift Boat Liars for Bush have been discredited except among the hard-core zealots of the right wing. They march in partisan lockstep and are not interested in truth. No accusation or smear is beyond them. Thirty years ago, official Navy reports documented John Kerry's service in Vietnam and awa...

For quality, quantity and atmosphere, there's no better breakfast place around than the Village Square (next to Pizza Hut). If you leave there hungry it's your own ****ed fault! :D mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I agree. Very smooooooth! It's a vast improvement over the potholed, uneven mess that it was for years. I sure don't miss that big hump at the end of Merrill Avenue either. I am wondering though where the snow is going to go when it gets plowed this winter.

Deb, have you ever tried sour cream on potato pancakes? They were always 'latkes' to us and just wouldn't taste right without a little sour cream, salt, and pepper on 'em. Marty, here I am surrounded by dozens and dozens of big ol' sugar maples and never cared for the syrup all that much (butter and...

It's snowing this morning - again. Oh, joy. Oh, rapture. I slowly pound my head against the wall as I try to convince myself to pull on my boots and coveralls just one more time. Aaaaaarrrgggh! Anyone else tired of shoveling? Anyone else feel like strangling the next person we see wearing a 'Think S...

Those that did not go to the lions or executed in in the Coliseum in other ways were tied to stakes and lit up as torches for Nero's garden. Do you suppose they were better than citronella candles for repelling skeeters? Must have been tough to keep lit though... <small>[ February 24, 2004, 03:42 P...

We stand high and mighty poo-pooing the "insantiy of it all" but run clamoring to the TV whenever the disclaimer of "Parental Discretion Advised" is foist upon us, drooling over the feast of flesh, violence, or whatever plate of titilation placed in front of us - and we eat it u...

There is a reason I live in sheltered Tomahawk, I have seen the world and I like it here. I like the life style, culture and the way we do things in our sheltered little town. Amen to that, Old Scout. And to t.l. please understand that we aren't all backwards Luddites who shun the outside world. I'...

I see no contradiction here. The way I read it cmoo enjoyed the halftime entertainment on its own merits but feels that, while enjoyable, the performance was inappropriate within that setting.

Actually, 'naked' tractor pulls involve completely stock tractors just as they came from the factory, that is, no turbochargers or nitrous oxide or jet engines or any other modifications. But I DO like your thinking tinman! The John Madden/Frank Gifford thing would be a hoot (and yes, Viagra is a gr...

Dopey - during the pregame stuff I was watching people tailgating and thinking how nice some of that warmer Houston weather would feel. With all the snow and below zero temps we've had, you're missing a good old-fashioned winter back here! :D

I wish they would just stick to football instead of always trying to top the 'extravaganza' of the year before. Having the Hall of Famers assist with the coin toss was great. Everything else before and after that was, in my opinion, either tacky, cheesy, jingoistic or crass. Maybe they really believ...

Movies at St. Mary's too. Usually Christians vs Lions although I remember a Laurel and Hardy one called something like 'March of the Wooden Soldiers'.
Santa in a sleigh in the window of the Federated. Giant illuminated plastic streetlight decorations of Rudolph and Santa. Snow that was actually DEEP.
