Re: Tom Barrett.

Tommy Thompson had almost 10 million in campaign money banked. There are regulations as to what it can be used for or contributed to. Thompson used most of his to have a big party pretending to run for president, some he give to right wing kooks.

Re: Wolves kill bear hounds

Dogs kill about 25-30 people in the U.S. each year and this seems to be increasing. Wolves kill zero people in a year. So if Wolves can kill off some of the dog population they may be saving lives. The use of dogs to pursue, tramautize, and kill other animals (ethical implicationas aside) is very di...

What utter nonsense you spew. How sad as well. You don't want to say the pledge allegiance because of God "propaganda" but yet you use our money that says "In God We Trust". So you can throw away that propaganda money and don't you use it anymore. Throw it my way you hypocrite. ...

They pay in close to 20 Billion in state, federal, sales, income taxes and social Security. True the cost is about 26 Billion or in other words a few Billion more per year. However, that is the cost of one week in the Bush wars. Get your whinings prioritized.

The little more Scout talks about would be trillions of dollars not to mention the physical impossiblity. In fact these simplistic responses show little or no understanding of the issue.

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

So Scout, how do you plan to effectively do what you think can be done and how would you fund it? Minefields, militarized zone, deport the mothers of those hispanic soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq? Even the Roman Empire could not stop immigration. Despite the various penalties mentioned abo...

I would say the word xenophobe makes clear her opinion.

On the article, Walker has now reversed himself on this issue. Supposedly he will clarify his flipfloping this evening in Wausau, unless he changes his mind on that too.

Re: ATV on county roads

Nor do ATVs meet the emissions requirements of highway vehicles. None of their segregated fund goes to support roadways. Same for snowmobiles, all those ruts you see where snowmobiles cross are repaired at the expense of auto/truck license fees. The contest between ATV deaths in WI and MN is often s...

If you want real efficiency in health care you need a single payer national system. Even the public choice for those with no other recourse only nibbled at the edges. Of course the Tea Party crowd love the ten percent increases every year with the current system so that is what they have been rantin...

As you know U.S. Senators are elected by Statewide elections and need a majority to win. Feingold has twice been reelected and will likely be reelected again. The fact of the matter is that he supports many of the things his supporters do. For example, in Wisconsin the majority of people support min...

Quite the contrary. Plainfield will NEVER have a Ed Fest. The locals are very touched by the bad press and most of the Plainfield folk have had either a relative or a family friend killed by him or know some other resident that has. I personally know people from Plainfield and that is the fact. The...

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

Humans have observed and studed wolves for a long time and wolves that live in deer country consume about 15-20 deer per wolf per year depending on what else is available. Take the higher figure of 20 x 500 wolves. Or you can take one of the wildly exagerated wolf numbers. Either way wolves have lit...

Back when I worked for the Federal government the nonsense spread then was that it was $300 for a hammer. The GSA catalog had them for less than Fleet Farm. The healthcare issue has been in the top three or so in politically elections for about 40 years.

U.S. Senator Herb Kohl from Wisconsin has made a short video about the issue and it may answer some of your concerns:
