I find it interesting that people complain if their home value goes down and if their home value goes up they also complain. For entertainment I hope the republicans run the Neumann guy mentioned. While running against Feingold in took about $10,000 from L&M Tobacco and $10,000 from Brown and Wi...

Re: Should Cheney Clam Up ?

Should Cheney Clam Up? Most democrats would probably say no as they would like to keep the memory of the Bush/Cheney years alive in the minds of the people. Most republicans would probably say yes as keeping torture issue so closing tied to the repubican party will help continue the disintegration o...

Re: Cigarettes

Actually this is pretty cheap and voluntary as far as a tax goes. The estimated cost of the Iraq war to a family of four is estimated to be from $20,000 to almost $30,000 not counting human lives. And that payment is not voluntary. One can always just not buy the tobacco product, or grow your own.

I grew some tobacco plants last year. They are difficult to start but not so bad after that. Here is a picture of some from last summer:

It is possible that the fetuses could have been removed and kept alive with extraneous medical care and costs. However, when you take that effort and money and put it toward saving lives that we all agree are full humans, it is much more pro-life to do so. The nine year old and the fetuses would lik...

Abnerman, As stated, I have no problem with requiring smoke detectors, even requiring more of them. I believe some areas require CO2 detectors too, also a good idea. I want to know why I can't use a "standard" smoke detector, why do I have to wire one in? I think the second part is the st...

Most plumbers, refrigeration repair peolple, etc. command a bigger wage than auto workers. What people get paid goes to buy other consumer goods. Yes the CEOs were paid obscene amounts and made incompetent decisions on CAFE standards, insisting on producing Valdez class guzzlers, etc., but this crim...

This morning I shot my third deer for the fall season and saw 5 others beside that one in just the hour and a half I was out. I fail to see the wolf-caused shortage I keep hearing the holiday season DNR haters belly aching about.

I'm voting for Barack Obama. Same Here. I got two more robo calls this evening from the Republican National Committee (RNC)/McCain/Palin campaign and both were extremely negative character attacks upon their opponent. I think that is about 7 calls so far this last month not counting those from the ...

Re: Wolves kill bear hounds

I like a nice quiet stroll in the woods while hunting. I can live with fewer hound packs creating a ruckus and the convoys of pickups driving around trying to find them and round them up. Besides, Wolves improve the gene pool of their prey and keep their populations robust and strong. Long live the ...

Actually they have protested at other locations and I think this group has been to Washington, D.C. (for what that is worth).

After 5 years at $12 Billion/month someone should at least explain why we are in Iraq. Bush has not done so.

The no-call laws only apply to for-profit organizations. Religions like to pass themselves off as non-profit so they can get a discount on mailings, tax-exemptions on certain purchases, and build very expensive buildings in nice places and pay no taxes. Technically this precludes them from getting t...

The statistic is clear. It deals with the top 50 most weathly, not the entire 535 although if you look at those results I guess you will not be happy as they won't come out the way you want.

Re: Seek your input regarding deer hunting

I went out the first morning and saw no deer until about 9am when I shoot a buck with a nice rack but only five legal points and at about 10am shot two does and a half hour later the guy I hunt with shot a fawn buck. So with all the deer to clean up we quit, registered them, skinned them that aferno...

Now that Exxon is rolling in so much cash (again) perhaps they will finish paying their bills for the 1989 Valdez oil spill. Instead they are spending it on more lobbyists so despite vast record profits the oil industry still picked up massive taxpayer-funded subsidies in the last energy bill.
