Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

Here's a little something for all the hunters that didn't see a deer to shoot at this season:

I sent the link to Old Scout & he gave the game his seal of approval.

Let's all be "opportunists".

Look for opportunities to help folks.

Hey Catfish,

Is it true that the main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live?

Thanks! Dad is getting better. The folks at AMC are fantastic & he is one tough cookie too.
(Besides, he need to get well to attend stuff like his grandkids weddings.)

Catfish, I hope things are continuing to go well. I worked with a man who had a liver transplant. He has done well & has tranferred to the HQ of our company. His promotion demonstrates that his transplant certainly didn't hinder his professional development or his social interactions after whate...

Re: Concern about water levels

Deb, Fall vacations are phenomenal, even when we have the first hard frosts of the year. I took some great early morning pictures of frost-edged oak leaves while walking our dog. It was also a great start to vacationing without the kids since they are now both in college. We'll have to wait until ou...

Re: Concern about water levels

Ken, When Nancy & I vacationed on Lake Alice at the end of September, we took a ride to the former Moonlight Bay Resort on Nokomis where we had stayed for many years when the kids were in elementary school. Moonlight Bay was a mud flat extending past an island that was a feature to us about 300 ...

Scout, If my one of my escapes (beer) from all the higher taxes I'm going to pay for all of the bail outs & folks who were fortunate enough to be driving crappy enough cars to get a gov't freebie on the "cash for clunkers" AND get taxed further for my "benefits" from my emplo...

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

I emailed the folks at Discover WI to see if Dec 2010 was a typo & they meant 12/09 for re-running the Tomahawk/Merrill episode. They replied that it will be 12/2010.

I'd love to see it sooner, but the $25 that they want for the DVD buys a lot of good beer!

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

From the folks at discoverwisconsin.com: The Merrill/Tomahawk episode will air again December 11/12, 2010. If you do not want to wait that long to see the episode again, we do have copies available. We charge $25.00 for all show purchases, and you can choose between VHS or DVD. Taxes (if applicable)...

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

Did any one happen to see & tape the Discover Wisconsin show this weekend? Tomahawk & Merrill were the feature for this week's show. Nancy & I only caught the last 5 minutes. I've e-mailed the folks at Discoverwisconsin.com to see if they will replay the show or if we can eventually see ...

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

Trade Aaron Kampman for a starting Left Tackle? Aaron is a top pass rusher in a "4-3" scheme. He is a free agent after this year & might be happier playing for a team that plays that defensive style. Wouldn't it be a "win/win"?

Deb,
The perceived age shifts are "allowed" to happen because they were mentioned in newspaper or magazine articles. The chronologically 20's - 40's are too busy texting & tweeting to read the articles & protest the perceptions.

I wish we would have soaked a sucker while we were "perch jerking". There were two intervals where Nancy & I weren't getting bites. Now I wonder if there was something larger cruising the area at those times! If you take a brown sharpie marker & "paint" that B1 Minus, it'...

I'm hunting for a couple of viable offensive tackles for the Packers in next year's draft. (Unless the Pack finally opens its purse a bit & signs a good free agent tackle in the off season.)
