Re: Tomahawk Desert?

Ken,
I'll bet there are a bunch of my old lures on Nokomis that are seeing the light of day! I wonder if any "old timer" has a pair of "marsh skis" yet. If some one had a pair, they could replenish a tackle box in a hurry.

Re: Tomahawk Desert?

Thanks for the info Scout.
It's amazing what a difference 120 miles can make as far as rainfall goes. We were ok in the Fox Valley this year. Obviously that wasn't the case around Tomahawk.

Tomahawk Desert?

I was shocked to see the picture of Lake Nokomis in the on-line TL newspaper. Is there any water between Moonlite Bay or the old Mistletoe Bar & the islands in front of the resort?? It seemed to me that we had more rain this year than we did last year.

Lacy, Your ramblings during your first post don't even come close to matching your sermon in your last post. Perhaps the responses received would have been different if folks knew where the he## you were coming from?? [ October 16, 2003, 10:59 PM: Message edited by: Jeff Boettcher ]

Re: The Pack & Da Bears

Then there's the Cubs eating goat cheese in the eighth inning tonight. I was really hoping that they would win. Even though they play in Chicago, they became my adopted baseball team after the Braves deserted Milwaukee. [ October 14, 2003, 10:21 PM: Message edited by: Jeff Boettcher ]

Re: The Pack & Da Bears

Hey Mullin, I wouldn't hang your head too much. I don't see the Packers as head & shoulders above your team in terms of talent. He--, the Pack lost to the freakin' Cardinals. The Packers are 2-2 against opponents who have won a total of two games between themselves. Their next four opponents hav...

Aphephilia,
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading Nugget's post, I hope you never leave your role as "spelling cop" for this board.
It's obvious that your coaching is needed.

Re: whiney neighbors

Lacy, All you proved is that YOU are a whiner. My take from your original post is that you probably ****ed someone off by infringing on their turf & you got bent by them taking offense. Otherwise why would you ramble on with this topic?? As for your grammar/spelling shortcomings: quit trying to ...

Re: Welcome out-of-state visitors, but...

Dopey Dwarf, I get bummed whenever my son & I go fishing. Here are folks who supposedly enjoy the "Great Outdoors" yet they leave discarded bait containers, lure packaging, lunch leftovers scattered over the banks & even in the water. We've seen this from Wisconsin to Alaska. Where...

Kobe Bryant, Mark Chmura, etc. Playing a game & making millions. How can they be so stupid & risk losing the gravy train by thinking with their pricks? If I had a multi million dollar contract, I'd hire some one to follow me around with a cattle prod. If it looked like I was going to do some...

Cell phones for emergencies are fine. Odds are you've probably stopped the car then. Shooting the **** while cruising at 65 mph+ is not. Like Fushia said, focus is the issue.

Swish-
Thanks for setting me straight. I'm fairly certain that back in '75 the Tourism board was a part of the DNR, but obviously that isn't the case anymore.

Fushia-
"Who wants to know" equates to "Oh Yeah?" or "Your momma!" in Debate 101. Despite the childishness of your response, I answered your question. Now do me the same courtesy. Do you now live in Tomahawk? Or are you a tourist like me?

Re: Cell Phones?

Dagger- I don't think that "hands-free" is a solution. It's still a distraction to talk on a phone while driving. Driving in & of itself is difficult enough with all the other peckerheads out there trying to meet their self-imposed schedules. I still think the best solution is to pull ...

Well said Scout!

I hope you've had a great summer so far!

Don't forget, our tax dollars pay for the Tourism board ads encouraging those visitors. The wierd thing is, I think that board is part of the DNR too.
