Re: Cell Phones?

Aphephilia- I'd go further than requiring a head set. I'd make it illegal to for a driver to talk on a cell phone, apply make up, stuff their face with some fast food, etc while driving a car.

That's about as likely to happen as seeing Fushia actually state her position in one of her posts/polls.

MedicDVG- Congrats on the 5 star rating! You & the rest of the staff prove once again that bigger is not always better when it comes to customer satisfaction. Fushia- Since I've asked the question twice, it's fairly obvious that I want to know. Who am I? It's common knowledge on this board that ...

Happy Fourth weekend Scout!!!!

If you really want to drive the da## tailgaters to having a stroke, slow your speed to 5 mph LOWER than the speed limit. While they honk, wave to them. Then watch them steam.

Re: Mosquitoes?

I have forgotten where I heard this, but there was a study that found that a mosquitoe will not travel more than 300 yards from where it was hatched. Seems to me that if folks actively dumped sources of stagnant water (Sandbox & toys, bird baths, buckets, etc.),the problem of mosquitoes & th...

Zeus,
You also forgot Apple Pie.

As for good beers, an imperial stout called "Old Rasputin" from North Coast Brewing isn't too shabby either!

Silkvein-
Nice website. Good luck with the band.

It's been a beautiful week. Maybe we all had the common sense to shut off the computers and enjoy our surroundings instead of staring at our monitors?

Re: Mr. Kottah Still Missed

Zeus, Your reply sounded like a very bad country western song, but it does bring up a topic. What's a "good" beer? The one that's free? The homebrew from that friend who has a knack of manipulating the malts & yeasts? That special micro brewer who puts Nirvana in a 12 oz bottle? Or mas...

Re: Mr. Kottah Still Missed

Every board needs a Kottah/Jim Rome "pot stirrer".
Otherwise it's a "yawner". I'm suprised that no one has taken up the slack. Zeus is too abstract, Doolittle is too in love with his vocabulary, folks like me are too lazy.

Junior member has taken on a whole new meaning after teathyme's post. Originally I thought it meant a relatively new poster to the board. Now I wonder if it doesn't refer to posters who are new to English as a language.

A good friend of mine has a son who is in Iraq as a driver for supplies to the Marines. He told his dad that sunglasses (polarized) are a big help. Due to the sandstorms, a pair of sunglasses rarely last beyond two weeks.

Deer Lake Cottages. We haven't been there for two years, but as far as beautiful views of sunsets over a 300 acre lake with good fishing in a cottage with a fireplace, there's none better. Five miles north of Tomahawk. [ January 22, 2003, 10:49 PM: Message edited by: Jeff Boettcher ]

Nell- About that statememnt that if cigarettes ever get above $3 per pack the teens won't be buying, the "premium" brands are approaching $4 per pack. The kids still buy them. The parents need to make a stand. Ignorance is no excuse. If you have a sense of smell, you'll know if your kids s...

Ken- The similarities should make you pause for thought before slamming a mis-guided soul like Mullin. Da Bears lost their run stuffer before the season ever started. The Packers lost Gilbert every time some cheap shot team wanted to run the ball & clipped/cut-blocked him (Vikings, Atlanta both ...

On "D" they missed Sharper who for the second time in December had no business attempting to return an interception when he got hurt. On "O" they deflated when Driver went out. All year the team has been held together with baling wire, bandaids, & bubble gum. The loss of two ...

I don't know how the tie breakers shake out, but if the draft were held today, the Bears, Viqueens, and Lions would have picks 2,3,& 4.

I hate to say it, but it's time to cheer for those three sorry as* teams to win the rest of their games.

Mid Road-
I interpret it as an old version of "Holy Sh*t" or "wow". (Either that or Ken is trying to speak in tongues after a few Logjam Brews!)
