Re: It`s that time of the year

Folks always talk about the nail biters being great games. To me a great game is Packers 49, opponent 0. I want to experience one or two of those soon!

Re: It`s that time of the year

It took a third string running back, but thankfully The Pack pulled off a win.

Hopefully Ahman Green will heal quickly!

Re: It`s that time of the year

What does it say for the Packers & the Bears if they both were defeated by the Saints & the LIONS beat the Saints? Tilt?

I think I will have a Capital Brewing "Autumnal Fire & A Lakefront Brewing "Riverwest" all malt cooling in the 'fridge to mellow me out.

Re: Don’t limit Venison Feed menu to beef only

They'd probably taste like chicken. (Or grouse, or cardinal, or pheasant, or oriole, etc.)

Re: Favorite Things!

Council Grounds is a cool location. Even though I'm a Packer fan, I'd be fishin' (or snugglin') if I were camping.

Nell-
Due to the red eyes of the two species in question, I can see just how I might have confused you! How ya doing?

Happy Friday!

Re: Favorite Things!

Deb- If Nancy has her way, we'll have a pop-up with a shower & a crapper. If I still refuse to grow up it might be a tent, but only with VERY comfortable air mattresses. (Tilt?) Marty- That was our big bummer for our vacation in Mercer. The blackberries were still green. We did manage to find a ...

Re: Favorite Things!

Ken- In the future, initial them before you use them & then when he uses a lure with your autograph, he will be able to credit you with an "assist". (With the number of lures I lo$e I should follow my own "advice".) <small>[ August 18, 2002, 10:39 PM: Message edited by: Jeff ...

Re: Favorite Things!

Deb-
The camping idea really is starting to appeal, especially for sometime this fall when the kids have a day or two off from school. Love the colors & watching the young loons get ready to head south.

Re: Favorite Things!

That the Musky (38 inches)was a stroke of luck. I have never caught one & we have never really fished for one. The lure used was one that was found by his sister (Kathy) while we where walking the shore of the Flambeau Flowage the day before he caught the fish. It was half buried in the sand, fu...

Re: Favorite Things!

Marty- You guys are stuck with us. We'll just take Deb's advice & camp to avoid the jet skis. I'm sorry that Carla is either a jet skier or simply misundertood my position. C.J. fought that 38" Musky like a pro & it was safely released. (The hook fell out while the fish was in the net.)...

Re: Favorite Things!

Hi Carla- Why are you so judgemental? From my first post to this topic it is obvious that I love the Tomahawk area. My second post is merely a "tongue-in-cheek" poke for some fun. If you took the time to check out a few of my previous 90-some posts, took the time to figure out where the h-...

Re: Favorite Things!

Deb- Since we found a great cottage on a little lake & our son caught his first Musky last week when we were staying in the Mercer area, I know we'll be spending a week up there again. We'll still hit Tomahawk. We've had too much fun over the past 12 years to abandon the area. I think your campi...

I posted questions on this board looking for such a lake & received no responses. Guess I'll take the hint & take the family further North.

Re: Favorite Things!

Oops. I've found that the same thing can be had further North with a lower price tag. The folks are friendly & the jet skis are limited to 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. Thanks for the memories, but in the future I'll be taking the family beyond the Tomahawk area for a vacation. (Hint, Hint.) <small>[ August...

Re: Dockominium case floats big concerns

There was an interesting article in the Minoqua paper on this issue. The author made it sound like I could buy property across the road from a lake shore property owner, walk across their land & then use their dock, diving raft, or Anything they owned that extended into the water. <p>That sounds...

Re: Favorite Things!

Early August. Late at night. The kids are asleep. Sitting on the dock of a cottage on Deer Lake. Drinking an Expedition Stout from Bell's Brewery. Splitting time watching a lighted slip bobber and watching the skies for the Perseids meteor shower. When life is really good I manage to catch a walleye...
