Re: John Kerry & John Edwards enjoy attacking family and

jcg2, my comments were not generalizations, but come from first hand experience. However ridiculous you may think that is, it was based on personal treatment and general observations while traveling. Naturally there are many Europeans that are not of that nature, unfortunately I have not had the ple...

Re: John Kerry & John Edwards enjoy attacking family and

It seems that the truth throughout history is that Europeans haven't loved most American presidents. Europeans may not find the American public boorish but find our president, whomever he may be, to be so. Actually most Europeans do find Americans boorish, but that's not the issue here. European opi...

Kudos to Michael

Congratulations to Michael Schmit on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Not enough is said in the positive for our youth today, I would like to take this chance to do so. Michael is a fine young man, who is destine to achieve much. The rank of Eagle Scout shows a young man not afraid of hard work, a...

Re: John Kerry & John Edwards enjoy attacking family and

It does seem that Fox news leans toward Bush. However, isn't it great that we live in a country that freedom allows a news network to do this without government dictation. Fox News did talk with a spokeswoman from the Kerry camp this AM, who refused to answer the questions but to her straight forwar...

Re: Harley Ride

Nightowl53, I'm hardly naive to the reported goings on of the Fall Ride.Believe me I know beyond warm and fuzzy. Might I also add that I do go beyond my little group. Which I might add have contributed generouly over the years to the MDA cause through the Fall Ride. Of course Fushia and others are e...

Re: Harley Ride

Thank you Old Scout. Contrary to Fushia's argument, the majority of the riders do contribute to the MDA cause while in Tomahawk. The raffle tickets for one are purchased by the majority of those attending. Actually they spend lots of money on those tickets to win the bike and to benefit MDA. As Old ...

Re: Harley Ride

I'm always amazed at those that have never become part of the festivities of the Fall Ride. It seems that these folks find the most to critize. Not being a resident of Tomahawk any longer made the ride seem a million miles away and made us feel extremely homesick. Any type of function that brings pe...

Re: the passion of the christ

I'm not much of a deep thinker or very articulate, as many on this board will agree, however, the only evidence that I need that we were created rather than evolved is what I see when I wake up every morning. The sky, the green earth, lakes, and so on. Tell me where's the proof that this all came fr...

Re: Downtown

Music in the park would be a nice offering. Maybe different types, for different tastes on a bi-weekly basis, could be a possiblity. As far as the kids hanging on Wisconsin Ave. I think it's a select few that give the entire lot a bad name. At one time (in the past 3-6 years) certain groups would ha...

Right you are Jeff. At the state level we could have legislators be required to be on Medical Assistance or Badger Care and then see how quickly those programs get fixed.

Re: Cabin Fever

Sour cream on potato pancakes, sounds sinful. To be quite honest, potato pancakes are something that I've had more exposure to in Tomahawk than when living in the Fox Valley. Must be cabin fever all this talk of fattening foods. Oh well, what else is there to do besides eat?!?!? That could be a nice...

Re: Cabin Fever

Marty, right you are this AM was a perfect photographers morning. The frost on the trees was beautiful. I've heard that some die hard sappers won't be putting out taps this year due to the deep snow in the woods. Too bad, there's nothing like homemade potato pancakes with rich dark maple syrup! Ooo,...

We've been spoiled the past few winters, this is what March is suppose to be like. Most likely we'll have a "biggie" the weekend of state boys basketball tourney. It usually does. Brian, I hope your wife and daughters are in safe places, we all know what happened to histories most famous &...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

baby, scroll back and reread t.l.'s past post, she is married and has been for two years. Somehow or another I think she's strong in her convictions and will not have any children. Not everyone wants to be a parent. Not everyone should be a parent. I'm not saying t.l. shouldn't be a parent. I'm sure...

My oh my, we've gone off to college, seen the Twin Cities and now know what the world is all about. Thanks t.l. for letting the folks in Tomahawk know that we don't have a clue. Funny that we know enough to take our next breath. You too will someday be 40 ish and clueless, no matter where you live b...

Re: Martha Stewart

People seem to forget that some of the greatest authors of our time lacked good spelling skills. F. Scott Fitzgerald for example, editors cringed when receiving manuscripts from him. Basic words that most 1st graders spell correctly he misspelled. Then again, he died young. Could there be a connecti...

Re: Martha Stewart

As if Martha will end up in a regular prison. Let's be realistic, it will be one of those country club type places where she can practice her "Susie Homemaker" skills. I'm willing to bet she never will see a jail cell of any sort. People that carry 2 handbags into court, one that reportedl...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

As originally posted by baby I couldn't figure what it was about the Superbowl thing that bothered me. Wasn't really the nudity. I used to watch MTV and every other Madonna or heavy metal video had something like that. Then I realized it was the depiction of a guy tearing a woman's clothing. That ma...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

Let's reread cmoo's past post and see if we find any contradictions. Personally, I thought it was the most entertaining Superbowl halftime ever. Kid Rock was actually singing live (which I think is a first) and the Janet thing was over the top. I think by definition she wasn't technically nude due t...
