Re: Super Bowl Half Time

I hope my daughters achieve the level of success that Janet Jackson has. If that involved showing heir breasts, I guess I would still be very proud and supportive of them. My guess is that my daughters would never do such a thing howevever. cmoo, please clarify. I know we all contradict ourselves i...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

Right you are NurseNell. Just when in our society did a brest become something other than what God intended it for, feeding our young. I'm sure it was long before breastfeeding was not considered vogue. I'm a few years past the breastfeeding thing, is it considered the thing to do? I did it because ...

I missed it, but from all reports Janet Jackson apparently had a costume malfunction that was rather, mmmm, revealing.

Re: immagrants

NurseNell, it certainly is too bad that your children had to be victims to racist behavior, especially in such a fine community as Tomahawk, it doesn't surprise me however. Just to correct you on the roofing industry. For the most part those companies that employ undocumented or illegals are frowned...

Re: JFlosum calls for Hillary to resign!

jimbo 71, you say you are ready to accept a woman president. I don't think so. Otherwise you wouldn't be making the female dog analogy when refering to Hillary. Why is it that men can behave in the same manner and it's considered aggressive but women are being b------? No woman deserves being called...

Re: Northern townships stand against unfair library taxation

This goes right along with north of Hwy. 29 the state of Wisconsin ceases to exist. North of Cty. Hwy. C Lincoln county doesn't exist. Just our money for the use of the good ol' boys in Merrill. Let's hope our library gets it's just rewards. I'm all for shopping locally, but at times a trip to Wausa...

Re: Greed at the fall ride !

JKR, I never thought about the hassle your job could be the days leading up to the Fall Ride. Not a bad idea as far as safety issues, to either shorten the school day on Friday or possibly make it a teacher in-service day to keep the buses off the road. Although, my guys never rode on your bus route...

OK aphephilia, I apologize for my inaccurate comment on your feelings. Let me rephrase that by saying "the impression" you have left me and possibly others on the message board regarding anything involving Harley and the Fall Ride go back to past issues. If that's not the case just tell us...

Re: Greed at the fall ride !

I really find the whining regarding the Fall Ride a bit tiresome. It's old news. My husband and I housed 15 individuals for the weekend. This was the fourth year that we have welcomed this group into our home, at our expense. The gentleman that organizes this group is a business contact to my husban...

Re: Call the cops, oh my gosh!!

LOL JFlosum! I know the saying inwhcih you are referring, however there seem to be so many fences in this world. Terrists attacking because of religious fences. Lynchings in the south due to fences of different skin color. We just all need to be more neighborly and forget about these fences. Maybe a...

Call the cops, oh my gosh!!

As reported earlier this week on the "Q", a local citizen called police to report that a young neighbor's basketball had rolled into her lawn. From news reports this apparently is the result of an on going neighborhood fued. I hope I'm not the crazy one by thinking this is a frivolous use ...

Re: Kobe Bryant a sleazball?

Kobe is trying to make amends at home, he has purchased his wife an outrageously priced diamond ring. Wonder how he'll pay for it now that McDonald's and the like have cut all ties for endorsements. Oh, that's right he's an already overpaid athlete, I'm sure that ring was pocket change. Maybe a bett...

Re: Driving and breast feeding?

Nursing a baby in a moving vehicle, driving or as a passenger is not cool. We all know that a child of any age should be restrained while riding in a car. Pull over for pity sakes. What a jolt for both mother and baby if a sudden stop were required. Especially if the baby has teeth. Ouch!!

Re: Welcome out-of-state visitors, but...

Granted slobs that trash the great outdoors come in all sizes, shapes, and state of residency. I'm well aware of that concept. However JFlosum, it is a privelage, the original creator of the land gave us that privelage, the fact that we have the freedom comes from our government. Do not abuse the pr...

Re: Welcome out-of-state visitors, but...

JFlosum, as Old Scout and others stated, our tax dollars do pay for many of the vacation spots in Wisconsin, state parks, campgrounds, etc. To me vacationing does become a privelage not a right. Token fees are paid to use such places by out of staters, but the bottom line is my tax dollars help main...

leave the attitude at the state line and clean up after yourselves. While on a rafting trip on the Wolf River we ran into some very inconsiderate out of state visitors. For those that have never rafted the Wolf, a rule exists that no disposables are allowed on the river. Beverages can be put in ther...

Re: Mosquitoes?

We spent two weekends within the last month camping in state forest campgrounds. Mosquitoes weren't an issue. Now the flies were another story, especially while hiking. Marty, I read an article about zappers a few years back that said ideally you should talk your neighbor into the investment. The mo...

Re: How do you like the "new" location of the hosp

Geographical location of the new medical center shouldn't really be an issue in Tomahawk, considering that ten minutes in any direction and you have reached any destination within the city limits. Something to think about Fushia, at the old location an ambulance would have to "go through" ...

I know I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, as far as kids in town, however the faces I'm seeing on the street corners are new to me. Also, they appear to be just beyond the high school age, all though there seem to be a fair number of what to appear to be middle school aged kids. I have...

It was sarcasim Abraham, surely you are farmilar with that. Much like your reference to Bush and Vaseline the day he came into office. Duct tape and Vaseline has been used to keep the army worms from destroying trees in northern Wisconsin. Now do ya get it ?

Abraham, could you explain the vaseline thing? Along with the use of duct tape does that mean that the trees on the White House grounds are being over run with army worms?
