Re: State Budget, State Workers

Kerry,
You're right you are entitled to your opinion. Don't mind me, but a State employee paying taxes seems akin to person taking money from one pocket and putting it into another pocket of his own pants.

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Sorry I'm to busy for most of this stuff and very tired of people that never pay a nickles worth of taxes in Tomahawk shooting off. What should I do reply to people, who have never had a full time job, sold dope for spending money and that can't think any better than using a ctrl c to express someon...

Kerry, Having never dated a teacher I'm not the you are on expert on them. Re: State Budget, State Workers

With all the stuff that's going on in Madison and the protest that took place at the Tomahawk High School last week I did a little research on the web this morning. Here are some of the things I found. According to the US Department of Labor the average full time worker in the US works an average of...

Some people on this message board are apparently incapable of writing there own messages. I for one don't appreciate a message that is nothing more than links to whatever propaganda sheet or left-wing venom from MSNBC they happen to have read on the web or more than likely watched on TV that day. Br...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

After listening to the upset parents call in to Nelson's Market Show on WJJQ this morning layoffs should start here in Tomahawk. Many parents said some children apparently were told by their third hour teachers to go do what ever they wanted to do and that class was over. It sounds to me like some i...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Remember...this is all about the children. And teachers teach because they LOVE it; they don't do it for the money. Must be nice to just be able to bail on work without any consequences. My thought is protest on your time, not mine. Taxes pay your salary, so during school hours you are on my time, n...

The Ice Road

Not exactly a modern day achievement but it does cut a considerable amount of time transversing the river with the bridge out. Our forefathers used ice roads often. I was told by old timers that years ago the loggers would haul truck loads of wood into the Tomahawk Mill across the lake South of town...

Jeff's got this one right the Israelis are dead on with this and they don't care about hurt feelings, etc. They have the best record out there. The nut cases in Washington think that random pat down searches of five year old children and old ladies that have lived at the same address in Iowa for the...

School and Lincoln County Taxes

Tomahawk School taxes are going up 5% when we are paying a school administrator about $150,000 a year to be a cheerleader for the teachers union. The more they get the more he gets. What a great system, it sure takes care of it's own. Are we doing s 5% better job of educating our children? Is the sc...

Let's tie a plank to one end or the other of N. 4th St. at the place where there once was a bridge and have the politicos who make annoying phone calls walk said plank.

Writing the Tomahawk School system implying that the name of their mascot was somehow discriminatory against people of American Indian descent was the first thing that brought my attention to Ms. Burmaster. It seemed to me that the Superintendent of Public Instruction and that department should have...

One of the better quotes on this subject;

"As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, because America gave him the White House based on the same credentials."

Re: Airport: Inconsistent expense

The original press release on this airport expansion stated that there are 19 aircraft based at Tomahawk Airport. That doesn't mean there are nineteen individuals that own those aircraft because some may own multiple airplanes. The City of Tomahawk has budgeted $25,150 for 2010 airport operations or...

From you're photo on the front page, perhaps the trees were expressing their opinion of that billboard mess on 51 south of Tomahawk. The County didn't listen to them either, but they'll be back.

Don't worry Nancy's twitching little lap dog will be there long enough to give 20 million illegal aliens a piece of that beloved health care program. Obey voted the party line, filled his own pockets, took congressional junkets, landed his kid a job and extended a few airport runways in our district...

The Redistribute the Wealth of America Team of Obama, Reid and Pelosi with the help of Nancy's lap dog David Obey will engineer a an amnesty for those millions of illegal aliens before the next election. Those politicians are hopeful of watering down the vote of all Americans to meet their agenda an...
