Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

abnerman, then you are the only one! As I walk behind someone going into the building I work in, they are puffing on their cancer stick, they exhale and keep walking and the cloud of smoke hangs in the air, I am not in a building , and I must hold my breath so I do not have to smell the stench, or b...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

I find it amazing that most smokers just simply cannot figure out that they are hurting others with each cig. they share with everyone around them. Maybe if I capitalize it they will actually understand...... SMOKERS, I DO NOT CARE IF YOU KILL YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My problem comes when y...

Re: Logger shooting

The loggers I have spoken to say it is the wolves they are afraid of. I find this very humorus. They told me of several account, where there have been wolves in the area that they were working and they got frightened. I however believe it is the other way around. That is, that they were working in w...

Re: Logger shooting

No, I do not believe the loggers story, and apparently it is now a dead issue as no more or new information has been released. The stories reported are weird enough for "Ripleys Believe It Or Not." I have a hard time even believing that MOST loggers carry several guns in the woods because ...

Re: WHATS GREAT ABOUT TOMAHAWK

The way the woods look after a fresh snow fall, branches heavy with snow, the early morning sunrise over the river, the warm evening with the frogs singing love songs, listening to the Cardinals, the crickets chirping, the clean clear water, watching ice burgs flow down river, the different shades o...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

Kerry your analogy was quite good. Laws however are made by the majority of the minority. Most Americans do not vote. Trying to persaude someone into changeing their minds is not a bad thing, it is natural. If all the non smokers in the Rhinelander area would have actually voted, it would be a whole...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

I DO NOT care if someone kills themselves. If they would use a gun it would cost so much less (money and emotion) then when they get cancer and then try to fight it. Everyone around that person with SELF inflicted cancer suffer also. All the people who have to breath second hand smoke would not have...

Yea, old scout, I can finally say "I almost agree with you" I never thought I would be able to say that to YOU! :p Mine may stink but at least I can still breath. Sometimes even without cig. smoke.

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

The only way I would touch a cancer stick is to place/shove it in an orifice other then someones mouth. I am just sick of the STUPIDITY of smokers and their inconsiderate actions. I was always taught to treat others as I would like to be treated until they prove otherwise, then treat them the same w...

Even if a place goes smoke free, I must still walk through the cloud of smoke at the entrance or smell the ashtry at the entrance, before I go in. Thanks for sharing your smoke, you inconsiderate B*****ds!!!! Smokers, try something new, it is now called "UNcommen coutesy," hold your breath...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

Believe it or not there are several places that are totally smoke free in Tomahawk. McDonalds is one, however the smokers smoke 12" out the door and a person must walk through the cloud to get inside. It is within a few feet of the drive through and the breeze brings it from the door right in y...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

Yes, it is that VERY hard to find a place of employment that does not allow others to exhale in the air I breath. Still no answer to the question that my son asked years ago. Agian I have no answer for him yet. Anyone have an answer? "If you kill someone, and you knowingly and willingly kill som...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

Second hand smoke KILLS, it is a very painful and slow death! Aparently no one has an answer to the quetion my son asked years ago. It is in the opening post. People know second hand smoke kills others and smokers still insist on sharing their smoke with others. That is intentional! They exhale. Eve...

That is one reason I live in the country and in the northwoods. I try to avoid all of the above mentioned. A good indicator is lichen, it can not grow where the air is polluted. Do you smoke Old Scout?

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

A gay marriage does not put poison in my, my childern and grandchilderns lungs! It does not slowly kill the people that are in the same area as the gay couple. It does not leave and unbarable stench in the air and on my clothes and hair. I am not thumping a bible pushing my interpretation on someone...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

So in other words if a bus. wants to, oh lets say, pay their employees $2.50 an hour instead of min. wage that should be their choice? Or lets see, feed them rat poison, alittle at a time, that should be the employers choice? (there is arsnic in cancer sticks!!!) One more, they should have the choic...

Re: Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

I was in Oshkosh last weekend and was so surprised to find out that one of my favorite restaraunts was smoke free. It had a bar and it was just a busy as ever. I wish Tomahawk would think about a work place smoking ban!!!!!!!!!!! Then at least I could go out to a bar. They get NONE of my money in th...

Proposed work place smoking ban in Rhinelander

How is this for opening a can of worms? If the ban passes I may go look for work in Rhinelander!!!!!!!! What a great thing in my opinion. To not be forced to breath other peoples smoke!!! To not have to smell the stench. I do not care if people want to smoke,I just have a problem with them exhaling ...

Yes, I like your idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Or maybe put the food and water just out of her reach. Again though, from watching what is printed in the local papers on the court reports I do not believe they(the courts) will do much.

animal cruelty case

I just found out that the courts reduced the bond for the women who was charged with animal abuse from $5000.00 to $500.00. Now she is free to start all over again. This was the second time she has been charged. She has been convicted before this case. If she could not be stopped after the fir...

Re: Horses in Danger

This is the first I have heard anything negative about them. Word usually travels fast in the horse world. I have not had any problem at all with that team of farriers. They have been working with my horses for almost a year. Altough I have myself worked with and trained my horses to stand and do no...
