Re: the passion of the christ

Excellent post, Jay! You hit the nail on the head. That's also how I felt. When it's laid out in front you, it seems to bring you face -to -face with the reality of what He went through on our behalf.

Jay, there's another thread for this on the General Discussion board. I felt the same way you do. It has been constantly on my mind since I saw it on Wednesday. God's love for us is amazing.

Re: the passion of the christ

I loved it. I saw it on Wednesday and haven't stopped thinking about it since. I have seen many films about Jesus and the crucifiction over the years and none has ever affected me the way this movie did. One of my first thoughts was that here I was seeing about 20 minutes of the pain He went through...

Right you are, aphephilia! I guess some people don't look at mothering in the same light. Being the mother of God , none the less! Amazing!

Re: Jesus was married with children

According to news reports, the woman that died while viewing The Passion had an underlying heart condition. So whether she was sitting watching that movie or eating a sundae at Dairy Queen she would have probably still have died of a heart attack.

My dog loves me and, as far as I can tell, is committed to me. Should I be allowed to marry him? If not, why not?

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

I agree with Brian. Some people might drool over the crap they show on t.v., but I avoid it and so does my family. Don't lump us all into one big pile of "crap" watchers Medic cuz I don't fit the bill.

Re: pioneer gay bishop --

I say three cheers for President Bush on that amendment. And JFlosum, God doesn't destroy families. We seem to do a pretty good job of that on our own. And yes, some animals eat their young, but I tend to think God created humans to be a bit more superior in terms of brains (although I even question...

Re: pioneer gay bishop --

It's hard for me to put my faith aside when I look at things. I truly feel that homosexual couples should not be able to adopt children. The reason being that I feel children benefit by having both male and female influence in their life. I know some feel that you can just have any male figure intro...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

You're 23 with no young kids of your own. All I can say is wait. My kids are older and admit they thought they knew it all and had seen it all. However, being on their own with families has made them realize they didn't know as much as they thought. Everday life is a good teacher. And when you have ...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

You know, if a kid were to grab himself as much as Nelly did onstage, his mom would probably strip him down and check for a rash. Honest to God, that was the biggest waste of a halftime show ever.

Ease up on her, for goodness sakes. Yes, there's a better way to find out about things, but she's a little upset and I think just wanted some quick answers. Shana, I hope you're doing okay. I know as you get older reality does seem to slap you in the face at times. Just hang in there and take what y...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

Dopey, as for the look of shock on Janet Jackson's face, I believe that's called acting. Much like what her brother Michael did when he said in his falsetto voice, "I would rather slit my wrists than hurt a child." If you ask me, that whole family is in need of some major help.
