Re: 1930's Tomahawk

This may be a little off subject but I would really like to see pictures of Tomahawk, especially of the downtown in the 50s and 60s, but really any areas and any times including Bradley Park. Does anyone know of how that might be done? Anyone know of anyone who might be a contact for such pictures? ...

Re: Bye Bye Brett

Yup, it seems to be true. USAToday reports it...along with other early editions. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2008-03-04-favre-retires_N.htm Also, just Google 'brett favre retire' and you'll get lots of hits. He had a great run. Green Bay, and Wisconsin, should be proud. Not too many ...

Re: 1930's Tomahawk

I think that was Joe's Mug & Jug on the right side corner with Nick and Son's furniture factory on the left. What's missing is the pop corn vendor wagon that was always sitting on the corner by the factory. This is my 50's recollection though....

Re: Political Phone Ads

The cartoonists will just use the ears they've been using for George Bush for the last 7 years. Concerning the phone ads...my guess is that, like pop-up ads on your browser that we all hate, the ad people hope that they might catch a couple extra votes for their candidate or issue that otherwise the...

I couldn't find anything more specific then what's quoted below. My guess is they don't have the exact language ironed out yet. But since they mention tax rebates you would have to file and meet the adjusted gross income criteria. If you don't file or meet the criteria...no check. That's my take on ...

Deb, you may call me kmartell; you may even call me Deb, Deb. My preference is to be called Ken...but I answer to most anything. But please don't call me early in the morning...I like to sleep in. Deb, Deb, Deb (may I call you Deb?)...I hear such hostility coming from your post. I can even 'feel' it !!! Re: ZZZZZZZZZZ

I'm not much of a political junky...to tell you the truth they all confuse me so much that after awhile they all sound alike. But I took the quiz and came up with 1) Rudy 2)McCain 3)Fred Thompson. I do consider myself conservative on many subjects. But before the quiz I was leaning towards Romney. I...

I certainly can't add anything directly to this subject because of where I presently live but I think I know where all the deer have gone...to the foothills just west of the Stanford University campus. Yesterday a friend and I went for a noon hour hike in the hills just west of the campus, an area p...

Re: Federal Gov't "Gift/Rebate"

One of the things I've noticed is that NONE of the candidates talk about the national debt. I don't even hear any questions on the subject during the 'debates' (...but I might be wrong, I don't follow the debates that closely). One of these days this will all come back to bite us big time. The debt ...

Dean, Welcome back home and thank you for your service. btw...your coming home now is 40 years to the week that I came home from a year in Vietnam back in '67. It was snowing when I walked in the front door and my mom's welcome was similar to yours. I know how you feel...and it felt great to be home...

Hi Lynda, I have no problem forgiving you or accepting your apology because what you just wrote struck me as sincere and truthful and from your heart. There have been MANY MANY times in my life that I did or said something that later on I knew was just plain wrong. How I wished with all my might tha...

Re: Deer or lack there of !

Hey Scout, memories still intact...I realize things have changed...for the good and the bad I've noticed. The mention of Newood brings back some good ones though. Friends of mine, the Knasinski's and Schultz's lived out in that area. Been reading on the Message Board the past couple years about all ...

Re: Deer or lack there of !

I just think you're looking in the wrong place. The last time I hunted Newood I bagged an 8 point buck and saw deer each day of the 5 days I hunted. Newood is the only place that I've hunted deer and I can't understand why you're not seeing anything. Granted, I haven't hunted there lately but I doub...

I'm making some guesses here, the details might not be exact but the general idea of what I have to say is correct..... Re: smoking at the skate park

Hi Logic1, When I was a kid growing up in Tomahawk we used to use the 'ice rink' that the city built each winter in Pride Park. To my recollection the wind was blowing hard enough that if anyone was smoking the smoke would have been dissipated to the point of hardly being noticed. Also, just the fac...

Re: smoking at the skate park

The answer is YES!! But if you suggest, tell, or try to convince these kids into not smoking anymore it will only encourage them to smoke more. The ONLY way to make the skate park smoke free is to ban the little buggers from being there in the first place. No kids allowed !!! Kick 'em all out....and...
