Re: louis

Humble pie is sometimes best eaten with company. I feel less alone now!!

I hope the Labor Day Weekend was fun, safe and pleasant in Tomahawk this year.

Anyone spend any time in my old childhood haunt Bradley Park?

Mea culpa, Mea culpa !!! Yup, my inattentiveness caused my confusion. In my zeal to get some conversation and argument going I humbly admit that I overlooked what you correctly pointed out. I am embarrassed and I should be. Shame on me… All lessons should serve a purpose. This one should make me mor...

Hey Jeff, I thought the job of a "grammar cop" was to make sure that text is free from grammatical errors, typos or spelling mistakes. I don't think the job description includes reading into what the writer has to say or interpreting his thoughts and meanings into what you ‘think’ he means...

I have absolutely no experience in what I'm going to say so please take it for what it's worth....or not worth. Have you thought about using a private investigator who specializes in missing persons to help track down Ben? A Social Security number might show whether there was SSI paid into his numbe...

Hi aimless, If you could supply more information about Ben it might be helpful for anyone that may have information. Information such as how old he was when he disappeared, his ethnicity, obvious scars or distinguishing characteristics, did he wear glasses, what color are his eyes, etc. would help i...

Hi Jed.... I think your Message Board topic will be fun and interesting and a great place for sharing fishing stories and honing one's story telling skills. But I would like to know a little more about you. This closed Forum (closed being no other topics can be included) just popped up on the Messag...

I have no idea what your point is either. I'm sure as heck not going to go searching through all those links on a wild goose chase. I would be more inclined to look at some of the links if you stated your opinion on whatever point you're trying to make. This might get some discussion and dialog gene...

Thank you for posting this latest information. I also saw the article in this week's online Leader. I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said about these types of incidents. Of course I'm still very mad and frustrated, and feel helpless to do anything or come up with any new ideas on ho...

Re: A Little Humor

Hey Old Scout... We're out here!!! At least I hope we are. I guess we're just waiting for a subject that will peak our interest...something that will spark a little debate and generate some give-and-take (at least that's my excuse for not posting anything). Btw….this weeks Leader arrived in the mail...

If anyone has taken any pictures of the sculpture and they have some time to spare I would really appreciate it if they could email me some. The Leader Photo Album only has one so far. I used to live exactly across the street from where the sculpture is located. My folks owned the tavern at 104 Sout...

Re: Flag theft.

Abnerman raises some interesting points. I had a similar discussion with a friend of mine concerning the amount of attention 'we' were giving to the stolen Flags and why didn't we put that much energy and interest in say dealing with solving how to deal with the war in Iraq or solving Aids or cancer...

I could bury my head in the sand and pretend I haven't thought about this same question. But I can't and I did. Jimmo just asked it first. Man, I hope I'm just paranoid !!! I will pray that nothing happens to the sculpture. And yes, I do pray about really important things too. You see, I am paranoid...

Well....I'm so glad we found a topic we can finally all agree on. And that is...beer is good, no beer is bad!!! Now I'm sure we could argue until we turned blue in the face about which beer is best, but that's just a matter of 'taste'. But the end of the day, no matter what's in our mugs, we can hoi...

Re: A Little Humor

Hey Jeff, Sorry to say that I never heard of Leinenkugel during my early years in Tomahawk and a little later in Wausau. Pabst and Miller were my beer of choice at that time. Out in CA it's Heineken's. But looking at the Leinenkugel web site sure makes me thirsty to give it a try. Unfortunately, the...

Re: Crack cocaine - lighter sentences?

The people that are getting caught and arrested with 5 grams of crack or cocaine are dealers...as opposed to users. As such they should get the longest sentence possible. I have no sympathy for dealers. Users (non dealing users), on the other hand, 'may' have some rehabilitation value. Many are caug...

Ice Fishing Contest - Packers vs Vikings The Vikings challenged the Packers to an ice-fishing contest. When it came time for the catch weigh-in, the Packers had 100 lbs. of fish, and the Vikings had zero. The Vikings demanded a rematch for the next Saturday. This time the Packers came in with 200 lb...

Re: Photo in Paper

After re-reading the earlier posts I don't feel that those posts that were 'against' the pictures were necessarily 'enraged' by the pictures. Even Pac-Man, who used the word enraged, ended his post with "The story could have been done without showing the blood of Tracy on the wall. Poor taste I...

Re: Photo in Paper

I agree. Very poor taste. The picture was 'over the top'. I would expect to see something like that in one of the supermarket tabloids, not in the Leader. There is no positive value in showing something like this. It borders on the grotesque.

Re: Would you like a dog park?

For what it's worth... Dog parks, or dog runs, are very popular around Mountain View, CA and other cities in the Bay Area. The biggest asset, especially in this urban/suburban setting, is they allow people to have dogs as pets and a place they can let them 'run loose' to exercise them. It also allow...
