Re: Hurricane Katrina

Well Dagger, you just guaranteed you'll never get my vote if you run for office. Adding additional taxes on gas when prices are already so high would instantly send our economy into a depression. EVERYTHING we use to live and buy involves gas somewhere. Businesses will be forced to raise their price...

Karen,

Welcome!

I'm not even living in Tomahawk anymore and I can still say it...

Feel free to hit the board up with any questions you have, etc. I'm sure the people here will be more than happy to help.

Might help mileage a little but nothing like killing the environment (and the people in the cars behind you).

Those parts are there for a reason.

Re: Hurricane Katrina

Actually one of the things I heard today is the New Orleans bears some of the blame. From what I understand they developed an evacuation plan some years back. They had even run drills on what needed to be done. They were to use school busses to pick up those that couldn't get themselves out, etc. Th...

Re: Evading the gas prices

I don't know about the tornado but I've talked to someone who put a K&N intake and filter and he said it added 1-2 mpg. Realistically, I think the best that things you can do are the simple ones. 1. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. 2. Get a tune-up. 3. Don't drive if you don't have to...

Just curious what people were doing in response to the hurricane or what others thoughts were. I'm planning on using my company's donation matching policy to make a donation. I believe we had visitors from the Houston area, etc. What are you seeing and hearing? Kerry <small>[ September 01, 2005, 09:...

At this point viewing past articles online is not available. It is a feature we are looking at implementing. We are in the process of some major changes behind the scenes (for the website) that will help make this an option in the future. To see previous newspapers you can visit a few sources that I...

Ya know, I don't really mind the fireworks that much in most cases. Really, as long as it is the 4th weekend, maybe New Years or some other special event, fine. Oh, one more requirement, lets get them over with by say 10:00 - 10:30 ish... HOWEVER, the twit shooting one off every 5 minutes starting a...

I'm guessing the director puts in about as much effort towards the band as he did the "golf team". I was on the team for part of one year. His "practices" were showing up, send the kids out to play, and then he left. That's some pretty impressive coaching let me tell ya! Funny, I...

You would need to have somewhere that posts the picture online. There are free services that will do this for you or some very good paid ones ( PhotoBucket appears to be a free example). Then you can link to that image from here using the UBB Code that can be found to the left of the box you type th...

Big Mike,

I'm not sure the largest majority in recent history equals stealing the election...

Also, while he may not be able to verbalize it I suspect the president's IQ is considerably higher than you might think.

Don't worry... The website goes on occasional hiatus a few times a year as the webmaster (me) likes to go on vacation and even occasionally decides to leave the laptop at home. On another note, the lack of decent delivery would have little to do with the actions at the Leader. All of the papers are ...

Re: New generation of conscientious objectors

As a veteran, fighting wars is not the lone reason for the existence of the military. We need a military for protection. The military exists in times of war and peace, as it should. Not to specifically argue but... The idea of the military for protection is basically saying we're ready to fight the...

Re: New generation of conscientious objectors

All right, time to chip in... I have no sympathy for someone who signed up for the military (an organization who's lone reason for existence is to fight wars!) and now decides they don't want to go back to Iraq or Afghanistan because now they don't agree with that war. They signed a contract. The mi...

Ready for a cat fight? By Larry Tobin Tomahawk Leader Publisher Are you ready for the great Wisconsin cat fight of 2005?
