Re: What's going on with the Tea Party?

Interesting to see prominent Democrats 'retiring' rather then face the public ire in a general election. Could be conicidence, but I don't think that Mr. Obey, who has been a Washington icon for years, would willingly step aside at the high point of his career... Just sayin' 8) Obey has done an exc...

Re: Northwoods Miscellanea

Enforcing federal laws will not stop the larger forces at work. As I indicated, one needs to look at the reason the majority of people are coming to America and then address those reasons. Many in Mexico still perceive Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc. as a cultural part of Mexico. True t...

Maybe it's awarded by comparison. The last guy started two unnecessary, immoral wars without funding or funding mechanisms that will bleed the American Taxpayers for a century. And advocated torturing people as a means to an end.

The law is a political stunt to buy votes for the right by scapegoating Hispanics. It will probably be gold mine for lawyers. "It also makes it illegal to impede the flow of traffic by picking up day laborers for work. A day laborer who gets picked up for work, and traffic is impeded in the pro...

Hilarious. There was an article about this in the Oshkosh paper. You have got to have a sense of humor about live and death. Eventually Plainfield will capitalize on this and start an "Ed Fest".

What will be the dnr's favorite excuse for the low numbers of deer taken this year. Was it the fog, the warm weather, sitting on the wrong stump, or the hunters falling asleep in their stand. Never will they admit that there are too many bear, wolf and coyote and not near as many deer as they think...

I would suspect that if you want a real good look at how government health care would be handled, talk to someone who receives their primary care from VA hospitals. And, keep in mind that these patients are supposed to be treated as "heroes". I receive my primary care from the VA and they...

As a whole this is not a bad budget and contained fewer non budgetary items than in the good ole nepotistic days of Tommy Thompson. People will care, the ones paying for it will. They'll also care when in the not-to-distant future we simply can't afford to pay for any of it anymore. Heck, even Microsoft is now stating if some of the proposed tax raises go through they are simply going to ship thousands of jobs out of the countr...

Bush pretty much socialized the banks and the Auto industry was on life support by the time the last 2008 quarter results came in. True Obama gave them CPR instead of letting them die. If socialism gave us equitable and affordable and accessible health care people wouldn't care. If socialism gave us...

Ask any one in the know about human population growth and its impact and they will tell you the issue is the fact that the humans have already exceeded the numbers that are sustainable.

The wolves are not the problem.

There has been no confirmed case of a wolf attack on a human in the wild in the U.S.. Hybridized wolf/dogs may have the potential as they have been intentionally bred to live among humans. However, about 18 people are killed on average by domestic dogs each year, the number of people killed in ameri...

I agree with you bikerannie. Furthermore, although I am a life long hunter, I do not consider tramatizing, harassing, tormenting a bear with dog packs and then shooting it a sport. Maybe humans should give more of the management of nature back to nature.
