A good article which puts Walker's current agenda in historical perspective. I think it is sad Walker is destroying the reputation of our state on a national level.

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Hope everyone is happy now that Wisconsin is synonymous with Fascism. And if you ever thought that Walker was doing this to balance the budget, now you know the truth. I just hope that it can be overturned in the courts. If anything this move just prolonged this battle. What are local governments go...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

OldScout - Outlawing collective bargaining for teachers and slashing funding for education is not going to improve the education of our children and make them more competitive on a global level. Here is what outlawing collective bargaining has done in other parts of the country. "Only 5 states ...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

neup99, I agree with you 100%.

The problem is that many, many people get all their news from channels like Fox News and believe everything they hear. This February marked the 110th straight month for Fox News being the most watched news channel in America.

Here's another video of the "violent" protests, according to Fox News. When did they get palm trees in Madison? Fair and Balanced my ***.

Re: Tomahawk High School

I don't have time to comment on your entire rant, but here are a few thoughts... 1. "First off they donated money to the RNC not Walker specifically. " NOT TRUE. "the Koch Industries' political action committee, KochPAC, gave Walker's campaign $43,000 directly (according to the Wiscon...

Re: Tomahawk High School

I never mentioned anything besides the way that Walker comes off on the tape. That is not how I want my Governor to act. If you want to be represented by a guy who refuses to negotiate with working Wisconsinites but jumps at the chance to get on the phone with his billionaire donor, that's your choi...

Re: Tomahawk High School

Tom B - Here is what I know from listening to the tape: Walker is dishonest and arrogant. His #1 priority is not to balance the budget, but to destory unions as payback for political donations he received and to make himself out to be some sort of new Reagan. Disgusting behavior for the person who i...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

State economist says that this bill will cost the state a lot of money. http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2011/02/23/wisconsin-unions-pin/ "As a state economist and policy analyst, I was surprised that no one asked me about this proposal. I analyzed it for its economic impact. If pub...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

If you listen to Walker, you would think that all the protestors are from out of state and they should mind their own business. First of all, that is hardly the truth. Sure, some protestors are from out of state, but isn't that their right as citizens of the U.S.? Secondly, many of the tea party pro...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Can a Walker supporter please convince why it is a good idea to sell off state owned power plants to whomever Walker wants, without taking any bids to get the highest price possible!? I mean, I can understand privatizing them, but no bids? Walker and his GOP buddies get to just pick and choose who t...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Local governments are saying that they do not want this bill passed and that outlawing collective bargaining would make the situation worse. Here is a statement from Eau Claire. I guess Walker just knows better than the local governments across Wisconsin because his strategy worked so well when he w...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Also, Walker is now threatening to start laying people off if the people don't bow down to his demands. Nice threat. And if he actually goes through with it the state would be 1500 jobs in the red and have 1500 new people on state unemployment. Good idea. The public unions have given into your fisca...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

Also, let's not forget that the argument is not about benefits/pension contributions anymore. Every public sector union which would be affected by this bill has accepted that they need to do their part and make the contributions Walker wants in his bill. So, the argument about "well, they need ...

Re: State Budget, State Workers

This commentary was just released: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezra-klein/2011/02/are_wisconsins_state_and_local.html It shows that public employees make less per their private counterparts, even when you include benefits. I think it is admirable of them to be offering to take even further hits...
