Re: Da New Street

Only one comment, for a new street it sure has a lot of pot holes (AKA man hole covers) that are far below the level of the pavement. The one in front of the feed store is a tire killer. Other than that it sure is a great improvement. Question, does anyone know if they are going to put a stop or yie...

Re: Streetlights Question

If you go through Rhinlander, there are some streets that have this type of lights. The difference is they use the sodium bulbs which give a more yellow light, simular to Tomahawk's old ones. They not only give more and better light, but do not blind people driving on the street. Apparently the peop...

Re: Graduate Felons?

I find it interesting that there is so much interest in these four students just because they made on stupid decision. I guess it must be the sensationalism factor. It is kind of funny in a way what people take an interest in and what is of enough interest for it to make it into the news. Back on th...

Re: Downtown

I have a problem with blaming the kids for all the problems in the down town area. Most of them are just looking for somewhere to meet and hang out with their friends and face it, where else do they have to go. When I was in High School, (in the 60's) we had the Hole, the resturant above the Bowling...

Re: Cabin Fever

Brian, I just ran across this and couldn't resist. ODE TO FALSE SPRING The birds were all atwitter in the bony, barren trees Oh, could it be that spring was here To rout grim winter's freeze? The dirty snow was melting Melting like our winter hearts I'd swear I heard once long ago That this is how s...

You are right, you don't have to declare a party, but you can only vote in one party. If you vote in both parties your ballot will be thrown out as invalid.

Re: Congratulations Wisconsin!

Some years back, Wis. had an open primary where you could vote for either party or on both parties. It was changed to where any one can vote, but you must vote as a republican or demacrate not on both. This is only on the primary, in the general election you can vote for the person not the party.

T.I. If it makes you feel better I edited my first post. From your post I couldn't tell what your gender was, other than immature and naive. [" but you are all stuck on your ways, you have this idea of what is right and what isn't and don't want to see it any other way. "] Your probably ri...

Re: Super Bowl Half Time

Wow, T.I. has gone away to college and now she knows what the world is all about. Hate to burst her bubble, but she has seen so little of it she is still in for a big surprise. I have been places and seen things that she probably can't even imagin and I haven't seen it all. There is a reason I live ...

Good grief, Shana asked a simple question and you people make a big deal over it. It is all public record, it's on the news, what is the big deal about the need to know. Why couldn't you just give her a simple answer or if you don't have the answer leave her alone !! :(

Re: immagrants

After reading all this only one thing comes to mind "ILLEGAL". What is so hard to understand about that word. They are breaking the law, and as we are a nation of laws why do we have to make exceptions for certain people. We are supposed to be all equal under the law. What is the differenc...

The way the Packers and the Bears played, if you combined the two teams they might be good for a whole game. The Bears played good in the first half and the Packers play a good second half. Shame that neither one can put a full game together. :D :D

Re: Tragedy

After hearing what our local radio station and the area TV stations are saying about this I wonder is they are talking about an entirely different incident. I have talked to the family and others that know what happened I can't believe how screwed up the media has the story. I don't know who they ha...

I am very pleased to see that the Law Suit for the seperation of the librarys has gone ahead. I just hope that the Judge sees how much of a screwing the northern half of the county is getting on this deal.

Tragedy

Yesterday there was a tragic event in Tomahawk that those of us that know the family can never forget.

My heart goes out to the family, they are in my thoughts and prays.

I see that the Tomahawk Library dist. is considering taking the seperation from the merrill dist. to court. I hope that they push this all the way and get this mess settled. The southern half of the county has been milking us long enough.

Re: Tomahawk Desert?

Jeff,
Actually this was one of the driest summers in many years. Everything was drying up, including my lawn which was brown most of the summer. The Willow and the Spirit are also way down. It is a good thing we are getting some rain now or the fire danger would be almost as bad as CA.

Brian,

Now I like that idea, Then the Tomahawk Library will save a lot of money on books and will have more to spend on staff so they can stay open more hours. Great plan !!!!

Re: Northern townships stand against unfair library taxation

I see that the southern half of the county is still playing it's game of we have your money and we are going to keep it just because they can out vote us. I think it is time for the Tomahawk area to take it to federal court and get it straightened out once and for all. In the mean time I suggest kee...
