Extremely well written Brian. I wouldn't care if I were a Bush backer I'd still have to give you kudos. It is what it is although you will never convince GW fans. It's like the blind leading the blind.
Saddam never was turned over for trail. He may have appeared in an Iraqi court but the US military still has custody of him. Iraqi officials ( you know, the ones we put in power)asked us to keep him since they aren't sure they can guarantee his custody.

I didn't write it, folks. Someone else did all the heavy lifting. I just 'googled' it up and shared it.

I don't get back to the board too often anymore and rarely have had time to post since the school year began. However, I couldn't resist giving Brian a resounding "Thank you" along with the other post-ers. Keep on 'googling', Brian.

Just to keep the discussion going...

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government. This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since 1991.
It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice anything special about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men-----
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas.
Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn brought over from Europe in pieces.
Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.

To be a good Democrat...

1. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than US nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese & North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by
soccer moms driving SUVs.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial, but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

8. You have to believe that businesses create oppression, and governments create prosperity.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe that the military, not corrupt politicians, start wars.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee and Thomas Edison.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal, and really a very nice person.

17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, is because the right people haven't been in
charge.

18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and sex offender belonged in the White House.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and
manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese government is somehow in the best interests of the United States.

21. You have to believe that this letter is part of a vast right wing conspiracy...... Hmmm :D :D

I do not have to do anything! I can form my own opinion and do not hve to stay within any political party. I can vote for which ever person I feel will do a better job.

I can't take credit for writing that one. Just ran across it and thought you folks would get a kick out of it. I have no clue where it originated. :D

Baby, I don't know what fortune cookie you got your information from, but voting along party lines is only in the primary not the general election.

jcg2, I applaud your political zealous and I accept your apology for your knee jerk reaction. If you must know I wasn't "protecting" Bush in any form, I just was saying I wouldn't base my vote on the opinions of the Europeans. That was all.
