Senior Transportation

Good evening everyone. I am new to the forum, but not the area. I own land on Lake Alice, along with my parents. I'm not in the area and am wondering if there are any Senior/handicapped vans that transport Seniors for their shopping trips, etc.

Thank you in advance,
Lucinda

Lucinda, there is a service called "Geri-Vans" for our geriatric generation that does just what you are asking about. They are out of Merrill and their telephone number is 715-536-7900 I'm not sure if they offer a service for Tomahawk or not. I beleive they service "Lincoln County" which definately includes Tomahawk. I would suggest though, to call them and if they don't do Tomahawk I'm sure they'd know about the same kind of service in Tomahawk. I know the guy and he will be glad to talk to you with his input. Good Luck and wecome to Tomahawk.

Lucinda, check out the 'Classified Center' section in the online Tomahawk Leader. There are a couple of small classifieds that might be of interest to you.

Thanks, Ken. I found the "errands" one. Must've missed the other.

I'll go back...

There also is a van that provides grocery shopping available from the Tomahawk Senior Center every Thursday, one week going to Nelson's Super and the next to Tomahawk Foods. There's also transportation available for errands and medical appointments on Monday and Friday afternoons. Contact the Senior Center at 715-453-5757. By the way, the center has become more and more active, with all sorts of fun activities and events in addition to the weekday meals and Meals on Wheels.
