Although I know the deed needed to be done, I'm not as over joyed as the crowds in Time Square and DC on the take down of bin Laden. Does anyone else feel the same a sense of apprehension as I do? Could there be retaliation in much bigger proportion that 9/11?

Deb, I understand how you feel. Just because Osama is gone it doesn't mean 'the war on terrorism' is over...far from it. There will be retaliation...just like there would be more attacks by al-Qaida if he was alive. But I don't think we should not act because of fear of retaliation...then they would win.

This is something that needed to be done. It took way too long but thankfully it was!!!

Good riddance to bad rubbish!!! <--- this was the cleanest I could say it...

Hey it looks like we are ahead. Now that Sodom Insane and Bin full of Ladin poop are gone and our big shot is still standing. We're ahead for now.

I don't know how I feel. On the one hand I am glad he is gone. He was a criminal first and foremost. I think he should have been brought to justice in a court of law, but sometimes that can't happen for any number of reasons. I am proud of the SEAL team 6 that once again conducted a high priority mission. They are **** good at what they do.

I am concerned however about the apparent 'nod and a wink' attitude of the Pakistani government, army and intelligence services who claimed that 'there is NO Al-queda in Pakistan.' I guess that was shown to be not true. I find it very very hard to believe that Bin Laden could have lived there for several years without knowledge and assistance of someone in the Pakistani system. They certainly have some explaining to do. I thought it telling that the Pakistani government was not informed until after the raid as there was a fear that pre-notification would have tipped him off.

All in all I grieve for all of those that have died because of Osama's actions in the past, and I grieve for the Arab world as a whole that has been branded extremist and terrorists because they are Muslim. Osama was about as Muslim as Al Capone was Catholic.

Lastly, I fear for the hellfire retribution that is certain to come in Afghanistan and Pakistan. While AQ may be hurt, they are far from crippled. Now they are **** as well. Not a good combination.

Tonite on the nightly news the sons of BinLadin are saying the attack on the compound where Bin was killed was illegal and against the law.
How about the attack on our twin towers on 9/11, was that legal?

I can't believe that we weren't more considerate and asked for someone's permission to do it and for instructions on the proper way to dump the trash into the sea.

Danged if we do and danged if we don't !
