ZZZZZZZZZZ

Postby Jeff Boettcher » Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:17 am

So no one has an opinion on the primaries/local elections, biofuels, Tropical deforestation for palm oil biofuel plantations, Packer draft options, tax "rebates", the price of potatoes in Ireland??? Cable vs. Dish? Big Ten & Nfl networks screwing us out of desired games? (Editorial comment there!)

Come on folks, Kerry keeps this site going as a public service. TL doesn't make $$ off this site. Let's at least support his efforts by actively stating our views, no matter how "screwed up" they may be.

It's a tough choice, I just can't make up my mind...they both seem well qualified to me....

As far as the politics, I'll be honest. Ron Paul is NUTS, I whis they'd stop inviting him to debates so I could hear the sane lies the other candidates want to tell me. Every time I hear him talk about the American Empire I want to beat him with a stick. As far as I'm concerned we're about the last country you would want to call an empire.

How many countries have we defeated in war? How many of them do we still "control". If we were an empire we'd be governing a large portion of Europe, Japan, etc.

At this point McCain's got my vote. At least he has the decency to stick with his beliefs even if a lot of voters say he's wrong. Even better, he'll tell you why he thinks he's right. I like that he seems open, honest and above all, fair.

I liked Edwards (but I'm not really sure why) and I'll vote for ANYONE, maybe even Ron Paul) before Clinton.

There, what do you all have to say about that! :-)

I wanted McCain the last time he ran in 2000 & was disappointed when he bowed out to Bush & the party. I still see a man of integrity who will take a stand, admit when he's wrong, & isn't afraid to have a sense of humor.

I also have to admit after the Democrat debate tonight that I think Obama could be interesting. There are a couple too many things I disagree with him on though. On the bright side, I won't think the world is coming to an end if he wins...

He is a different point of view. But instead of just calling for change, I hope that his strategy for those changes would become more detailed. (I want the same from McCain.)

Just my humble opinion, based, mind you on minimal observation, but I do believe our next Commander-in-chief will be a minority.

Good day everybody. I was poking around the internet the other day and found an interesting quiz. If you answer 11 questions regarding Iraq, Health Care, Taxes, Etc the quiz will give you an idea of whom your are alligned with as far as a presidential candidate. I found it quite interesting. If you want to give it a try here is the site:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/e ... h-game.htm

Let everyone know how you did and if you agree with the results.

I was in most agreement with McCain and Huckabee was a very close second.

Enjoy!!!

I'm not much of a political junky...to tell you the truth they all confuse me so much that after awhile they all sound alike. But I took the quiz and came up with 1) Rudy 2)McCain 3)Fred Thompson. I do consider myself conservative on many subjects. But before the quiz I was leaning towards Romney. If nothing else the quiz shows me that I need to start some kind of spreadsheet and list how each of the candidates stands on the major issues.

But doesn't how we vote also depend on how we 'feel' towards each of the candidates. For example...Clinton is just too mean and sneaky and her shrill voice and laugh drives me up the freaking wall. I also don't trust her husband. McCain is just too old and he has a side of him I just don't trust (although he is a great American hero in my eyes for his service). Obama sure has the charisma but I'm a little concerned about his 'lack of experience' and will his being black be a problem for him if he's elected el Presidente. Edwards has a snake oil sheen about him and his voice makes me want to use some nasal spray. Huckabee and Romney both come across pretty good.

Am I the only one who is persuaded by personality and feelings when it comes to casting a vote?

I'd rather talk about Ginger and MaryAnn. The polititians and the debates are already getting a little old (another year to go) I hope I never get so old that Ginger and MaryAnn weren't better to talk about. Now let's see.....Ginger or MaryAnn ???? How about MaryAnn at home and Ginger at the bar.
P.S. Sorry baby, but you can't stop a geezer from dreaming.
