Looking for advice!!!

Postby Tripod1 » Thu Feb 28, 2008 1:26 am

My wife and I recently purchased snowmobiles for the first time in our lives this winter. We now have a small problem. The winter is coming to an end and we will have to store them for summer. Here is the dilema. WHAT DO I DO???????

Could some of you die hard snowmobilers give us a few tips on how to get the sleds ready for their summer nap?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!!!

call Erv's Sales & Service or Tomahawk Sports Center - they could both tell you what services are needed.

The following always worked for me:
Add fuel stabilizer to the gas. Run engine for a few minutes. Shut off engine and remove spark plugs. Add a teaspoon or so of oil directly into the spark plug hole(s). Turn engine over a few revolutions to help coat the cylinder walls with a film of oil. Reinsert spark plugs. Remove the battery and store it out of the weather. Trickle charge it every few months to keep it fresh. Get the bottom of the skis up off the ground (a couple of 3 foot lengths of 2X6 work well). Raise the back end to so that the suspension 'hangs' freely and the track is off of the ground. Grease all fittings. Cover the sled loosely. That should do 'er for ya.
When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.
