in awe, and completely saddened. It's hard to believe that my country will allow this clown to continue. I will never understand the populations decision to support him. Such a terrible last 4. I fear the next 4.

""If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." --George W. Bush, 12.18.00

Editorial: The Liarfuhrer of the combined forces of unfettered corporate greed and undemocratic theocracy has led his thoughtless followers to the promised land of arrogance, thought-control, and selfishness run amock. Our country can ill-afford four more years of the kind of Bush domestic and foreign policy that we have already experienced. There is no reason to suspect that Bush will not continue to harm us, both here and abroad. His economic polices are calculated to reward the rich, destroy the social safety nets of the poor and the middle-class, and drive up the massive national debt that will punish the nation for decades to come. Bush's neocon-hawk-driven foreign policy is isolating us from our traditional allies all over the world, is responsible for the deaths and suffering of hundreds of thousands of U.S., Iraqi, and world citizens, and is exposing us to the whims of terrorists and the authoritarian deceits of both foreign and American fundamentalists. It is up to us, every one of us, to fight this corrupt and disreputable administration every day of our lives and to demonstrate our dissatisfaction and moral concern to our fellow citizens as often as we can."

Sounds like we have a bunch of poor losers. Apparently the rest of the country didn't agree with you. :D
The National Institutes of Health has just released the results of a $200 million research study completed under a grant to Johns Hopkins.
The new study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.

Yeah, he won. But the fact remains that half of the country did not vote for Mr. Bush and golly, are they furious. So do not--I repeat--do not give me that "I told you so" crap. Not only is it immature, but it makes you look really ----ing ignorant.

It's over and it is what it is. Disappointing for half and euphoric for the rest. For those of us that voted for change we didn't get it. For those that voted status quo you got it for the next four years.
Without a course correction over the next four years I predict;
1) Rising health care costs way beyond todays.
2) An economy that continues to creep at best.
3) Greater violence worldwide.
4) Another 4,000 military dead if not more (in Iraq).
5) Borders that continue to be porous and unsecure.
6) A burdgeoning national debt that brings us to the brink of bankruptcy.
I'm not sure how we're going to secure Iraq when we can't even secure our own borders.
We all lived through Nov 2nd. It's time to get on with our lives.
For those of you that would laugh and thumb your nose at the rest remember you got what you wanted. It's now a problem for all of us. And I'm an optomist.

So Bush remains. Here are some things I will probably miss in the next four years:

-Roe Vs. Wade
-Freedom of Speech (and those other pesky rights in the constitution)
-Talking on the phone without the FBI listening (Thank you, Patriot Act)
-The last remaining allies that we will undoubtably lose when we attack North Korea and/or Iran
-The troops that will be sent to die in said countries.
-The democratic party (essentially dead.)
-The "low" defecit we have now, vs. where it will go when Dubya doens't have another re-election to worry about.
-Health Care
-Ability to attend college (tuition:how high can it go)
-Low-interest college loans (interest:how high can it go. that lines kinda catchy. you can almost sing it)

Maybe I'm exaggerating, guess we'll see. Meanwhile, here are some things I look forward to in the next four years:

--More Michael Moore documentries.
--Another Punkvoter sponsered "Rock Against Bush" tour.
--At least 5 more "Bush-isms" Calendars
--4 more years of "how many bushes does it take to change a lightbulb" and other always-funny jokes.
--Canada joining the "axis of evil"
--Seeing how far up the political chain Arnold can get.

Sore loser? Nah, theres always a good side :D

I agree with the sentiments expressed by ski. :( I'm bummed out but I also find that even though my candidate didn't win this one, I can more easily accept (albeit grudgingly) the results since things appear to be more 'legitimate' than the last time we did this. I will say that I'm ****ed proud to be living in a 'Blue State' today though. We did our part.
So, congratulations to the opposition here. We've had some fun. It's been both enlightening and aggravating at times but in the end we are all Americans and all want what's best for our country. I also believe that we agree on many more things than we disagree on. It's time we moved on.
As for the guy who started this thread - what can I say except I told you that Flossy would be back eventually. And just as obnoxious as ever. Things must be slow over at the Man/Goat Love Association... ;)

For those of us who flew the flag at half staff for 30 days in respect for President Reagan, remember that we will have to wear our pants around our knees for 30 days when Clinton dies. Out of respect, of course

Dose this mean when george W. dies we have to rip out half of our brains for 30 days?

Obviously I am seeing red today, the red of the Bush states and counties. Although you may live in a blue state it is filled with forty five out of seventy two counties that voted for Bush. Lincoln County went with Bush, I think the first time we went Republican in a presidential race since 1988. So glad to see we are recognizing the truth when it comes to politics vs the rhetoric.

The true looser in this might be the democratic party and the mainstream media. The obvious bias of the big three networks and the Gannet corperation just made me ill, along with many others.

The idea that a twenty year veteran senator who has done little to nothing in Washington DC can run for President and not one major news network questions his political works or lack there of from the past is an obvious bias. Even Bill Clinton got grilled on what he did for Arkansas!

The true winner I hope is Mr Ed's, I would hope that they run out of fish this Friday night as Brian pays off his bet! :D

It's time to debunk the red/blue myth. While many states voted for Bush overall and others for Kerry it didn't mean then and doesn't now that the entire state is Republican OR Democrat. We'd be better served now if a map were laid out showing the percentage of the state that went Rep or Dem., ie colors showing the percentage that voted one way or another. At least that way we might be able to get on with the business at hand and close the apparent gap between parties. We're no less American's today than we were yesterday. Heck, my state voted for Bush BUT also voted in a new Democratic senator. Go figure

Thats the interesting part of politics, some times the way things end up make no sense what-so-ever.

Lots of things don't make sense. Like (hypothetically, of course) a guy that runs a company for a number of years. then, in war, we blow up a country, and said company gets no-bid contracts to rebuild that country. then said guy who ran company for number of years is vice president. so, theroretically, him and his buddies can decide which countries get blown up, and his old company automatically gets contracts to rebuild. doesnt it just sound wrong? ah well, too late now.

from the reaction ive noticed at school, most of the youth are terrified of what bush is going to do. its easier to not worry when you are not the one that is of draft age that may have to go fight in a war you don't believe is just. Or when 20 years down the road its your generation that will spend its years trying to fix the budget, jobs, relationships with allies, and a system of government that is on its way (if not already) to be so skewed from the very principles the country was founded on. when freedom of speech can be twisted into a threat to national security, there is obviously something wrong. when an administration that has such a cloud of lies and half-truths hanging over it can be re-elected, it becomes a scary time to be an american. i've never heard so many of my peers discussing plans to leave the country after graduation. dumb comments? no. more like inner fears becoming vocal.

Baby, give me your definition of "hardest hit" in terms of taxes. I'm assuming from what you've written in the past you fall within the 10%-15% tax category and that does impact you, just as the 35% tax bracket impacts my wife and me. We'd like to have that money back but since that's not going to happen we adjust our lifestyle to live on what we have, not what we don't have. My point is taxes impact all of us.
Fushia, God is all powerful. When politicians start invoking God's name to justify their positions does that make it right? The next thing that happens is politicians think they're God and all powerful.
