To the Leader:
We continue to see a high volume of families at the (Tomahawk Food) pantry. We are up about 25 percent over last year. Many large families are coming in, who, of course, get more items.
The fall drives are starting now at Curves and the Tomahawk Elementary School. Right now, we need almost any item we give out. The pantry is low on food. Staple items are requested. You can bring them to the pantry during open hours, Wednesday 1 to 3 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For special pickups, call Glenn or Sharon at 453-5954.
A special thanks to all the folks who brought in garden produce. We were able to give out squash, potatoes, sweet corn, green beans, cucumbers and tomatoes. We also received the extra buns and brats, catsup and mustardleft from the Fall Ride weekend from Harley-Davidson and buns from Lincoln County Cycles.
We thank the community for the cash donations needed to buy food today that we are out of.
We thank the 60-some folks who work the pantry and are doing things to improve our service to the community, probably now needed more than ever to meet the demand.
