Last Saturday night I had the pleasure of 'watching the Hatchets play against the Janesville Parker Vikings. It was an awesome game and the Hatchets should be swelling with pride after that game. It was played well, and both teams looked great! It was a game where you wished both teams could win.
Being a relative of Brock Roberts it was especially fun watching them play, yet we have children at the Parker high school, so we were happy for their win. Being a Hatchet alumni, it was great watching my old school play, and play well.
... Our daughter, Kyleigh, is a freshman at Parker and is on the girls' basketball team. She was anxious to see her cousin Brock play also, and she has friends on the Parker team. Also, the Parker coach, Mr. Lee, is also Kyleigh's social studies teacher. He asked why she was sitting with Tomahawk people and did her dad cover the game for the Gazette in Janesville. He is a sports writer there but they did not cover the non-conference game. Kyleigh told him that we went because her cousin Brock Roberts was playing against the Vikings. He said, "That guy is your cousin? He is awesome, they have an excellent player on their team." He also commented on what a good game it was. ...
Congratulations to the team and the coaching
staff, and I hope people come out to cheer them on, they are great to watch.
Go Hatchets! And thanks for an eventful game.
