Town of Nokomis Voters,

On Nov. 7, we will have an important decision to make. Do we want to be able to decide whom we want as our town clerk or do we want to give that power to the three people that comprise our town board? I urge you to vote against this referendum. I don’t feel it’s fair to be dictated to as to who will handle our records. As a taxpayer, I want the right to vote into that office the person I feel is right for the job. Please make an effort to vote.

Attention Nokomis Residents,

Voting is our privilege/our rights. There is a referendum coming up in November. Please decide carefully before you give two board members, who also are elected officials, the right to appoint a clerk. Every two years we vote for: one chairman, two supervisors, one clerk, one treasurer.

Only the chairman and supervisors have voting privileges on town business not the clerk or treasurer.
Please let’s not give up or privilege to vote for who we want in those offices. Anyone who lives in Nokomis can run for any of those positions. Vote wisely!
