To the Editor:
I would like to show my appreciation to the staff at Tomahawk Comfort Inn. To avoid some nasty weather that was predicted on Nov. 23, my company allowed me to travel a day early for Thanksgiving with the understanding I would work from my parents' home just west of town.
Around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, our whole neighborhood lost phone service due to a construction-related incident on Highway. 86. So, I packed up my laptop and went into town thinking that the public library would definitely be the place to go. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to use their facility.
I was at a complete loss and called both the Super 8 and Comfort Inn out of desperation. I would like everyone to know that both hotels offered to let me use their facilities. I ended up going to the Comfort Inn and they even issued me a room. I tried to pay them, but they wouldn't hear of it. I live in Chicago, Ill., but it is heartwarming to know that there are such giving and thoughtful people in the Tomahawk community. I am very grateful for the Comfort Inn's hospitality and generosity in my time of need.
