Killing innocent creatures ...

A Letter to the Editor in the 11-7-06 Tomahawk Leader:

To the Residents of Lincoln County:

We need to pay closer attention to what our district attorney’s office is allowing to happen. Case in fact, the two men arrested for burglarizing several local businesses and shooting the two beautiful horses. With the first arrest they should be granted leniency and given bail, but why on earth were they granted such low bail after shooting the horses? If you can stand with a loaded weapon, repeatedly fire at and kill gentle, innocent creatures, what else are you capable of? Let’s hope we don’t find out while they are once again free on bail. Lincoln County residents should remember Shilo, Camp and their devastated family when election time comes around. In the mean time, let’s pray the district attorney’s office show as much mercy to these two men as they showed to Shilo and Champ.

Disappointed Lincoln County resident,

Here’s my solution …

Dear Editor:

After reading about two persons having nothing better to do than shoot horses, here are my solutions:

1. Tie their hands to one horse and their feet to another and maybe the horses will run in the same direction.

2. Tie up their wrists, tie to saddle horn and let horse “run” over the roughest terrain in the area for an hour or so.

3. Send them to Rahway Prison, N.J.
