Letter in the Aug. 15 Tomahawk Leader:
To the Editor:
Timber Shrine Club and Shriners Hospitals for Children are deeply appreciative of the generous support of the greater Tomahawk community. The performance by the Kwahamot Water Ski Club was their 38th for the benefit of Shriners Hospitals. It was outstanding ... and to see those young people ski so that other kids can walk ... we thank each and every one for their efforts.
We also thank the business community for its support ... and all of the businesses that displayed our posters And to all of you who came to enjoy this great show and donated for the benefit of Shriners Hospitals, thank you.
Proceeds from the show will be used by Shriners Hospitals for Children to provide care for orthopedic or burn injuries. There is no cost to the child or the family for hospital care. Children to the age of 18 are accepted if there is indication the child can be helped. Anyone knowing of such a child is encouraged to contact a Shriner or call Shriners’ Minneapolis hospital at 1-888-293-2832.
Types of conditions treated at the Minneapolis Shriners Hospital for Children include: clubfoot and related deformities, hand problems, hip disorders, leg-length discrepancies, missing limbs and limb deficiencies, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic problems resulting from cerebral palsy, osteogenesis imperfecta, scoliosis and spine deformities, skeletal growth abnormalities, spinal bifida/myelodysplasia and spinal cord injuries.
