A letter in the May 15, 2007, Tomahawk Leader:
To the Editor:
Have you ever wanted to know Lincoln County’s average wage levels? Are you curious about what kinds of employee benefits are offered by local employers? Ever wonder what the demand for labor is in the county? Do you want to know more about what kinds of training employees need and want? Many of these and other labor-related questions will be answered only if you and your fellow business owners and managers take part in a labor market study being conducted by the University of Wisconsin Extension (UWEX) and the Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC).
By May 18, many local businesses will receive a labor market questionnaire via e-mail or regular mail. You may also pick one up at the Extension office (1106 E. 8th St., Merrill). The questionnaire may also be accessed through the LCEDC web site (http://www.lincolncountyedc.org/Lincoln ... opment.htm). We urge you to complete the questionnaire and return it via e-mail or by fax (536-0336) to the Extension office by June 1.
For those of you completing the survey either online or via e-mail, please open the document in Word (a lesser program will work but with minor glitches). Simply click on the shaded areas and enter your answers. Save your completed survey and e-mail it to either Art Lersch at UWEX (Arthur.email@example.com) or Jack Sroka at LCEDC (firstname.lastname@example.org). As mentioned, you may also fax the completed survey.
Survey results and an analysis of the data will be reported through the UWEX (http://www.uwex.edu/ces/cty/lincoln/index.html) and LCEDC web sites and in presentations as requested.
This is your opportunity to take part in a study that will help all Lincoln County employers. Results will also be compared with data from the 2004 Lincoln County Labor Market Survey. So please return the completed questionnaire via e-mail or fax (or even by hand to the UWEX office address above). If you have questions please contact either Art Lersch at 536-0304 or Jack Sroka at 536-0383.
