A letter in the May 15 Tomahawk Leader:
Dear Larry and Kathy,
Every year we come away from the Tomahawk Community Awards Banquet with such a “good feeling,” and Sunday evening’s event was no exception. In our world of daily “bad news” it is a wonderful reminder of the good that surrounds us and the caring, dedicated community we live in.
Employers and employees who go above and beyond; those who volunteer in so many areas; mentors for youth helping them to become responsible adults and at their young ages already knowing what it means to use their gifts and give back to their community; individuals and organizations who lead by example, exemplifying the best one can be or do. All of which not only make each one a better person, but benefit the community as well.
Our thanks and congratulations to this year’s winners and all past winners, and both of you for carrying on the tradition of recognizing those who define the heart of Tomahawk, leading the way and making a difference. We hope many more people will be a part of next year’s event and share in the “good feeling” of celebrating special people.
