A letter in the June 10 Tomahawk Leader
To the Editor:
Relay for Life is coming to town Aug. 15-16 from 6 p.m. Aug. 15 until 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at Tomahawk High School. This year’s theme is “Remember. Celebrate. Fight Back.”
Our community has many survivors to remember, and celebrate their victories. We have many among us that we need to support as they fight back against this disease called cancer which strikes one of every three. There is also a need to remember and celebrate those caregivers who have been there on the journeys that would not have been able to have been made without them. As always we will also remember and celebrate the lives of those that have been lost to this disease.
This community is so good at supporting its members, and the American Cancer Society supports the community. Relay for Life is the event that brings them all together.
Survivor stories are needed. Caregiver stories are needed. If you have a story that you are willing to share, please contact Patti Ward at 715-612-0704 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
