Does anyone know what happened to the gold finches this summer? There have been very few in sight.

I have had a lot of them around. Judging from as fast as they empty the feeders they are a hungery bunch !

I've seen very few here in the Chippewa Valley. I'm thinking it's hot they are deeper in the woods.

The Gold Finches are all at my house. Like the Scout says, they sure can put away the niger seed.

I have noticed that during the summer I don't see as many birds at my feeders as the rest of the year.

With the great growing season we had this year there is a lot of natural food for them so that could be the reason.
