Tomahawk Desert?

Postby Jeff Boettcher » Sat Nov 01, 2003 12:20 am

I was shocked to see the picture of Lake Nokomis in the on-line TL newspaper. Is there any water between Moonlite Bay or the old Mistletoe Bar & the islands in front of the resort?? It seemed to me that we had more rain this year than we did last year.

Jeff,
Actually this was one of the driest summers in many years. Everything was drying up, including my lawn which was brown most of the summer. The Willow and the Spirit are also way down. It is a good thing we are getting some rain now or the fire danger would be almost as bad as CA.
The National Institutes of Health has just released the results of a $200 million research study completed under a grant to Johns Hopkins.
The new study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.

Thanks for the info Scout.
It's amazing what a difference 120 miles can make as far as rainfall goes. We were ok in the Fox Valley this year. Obviously that wasn't the case around Tomahawk.

Jeff, the flood rains (and did it ever flood, the Post Crescent ran a picture of a S-10 pickup with water up to its windows) helped in the Fox Valley but we were still pretty dry there too. There was brown grass and we had the same leaves falling without changing color in places.

The Spirit was really low a couple of weeks ago! Some of the bays were almost dry! Too bad the bottom was so soft. You could walk around and pick up alot of lost lures!

Ken,
I'll bet there are a bunch of my old lures on Nokomis that are seeing the light of day! I wonder if any "old timer" has a pair of "marsh skis" yet. If some one had a pair, they could replenish a tackle box in a hurry.

Heck with the lures... if anyone finds my sunglasses, jewelry, more sunglasses, more jewelry and, of course, the jewelry and sunglasses I lost, they would be able to open a store. Just imagine the treasures one could find if able to really look....
