Is Kobe Bryant just another overpaid primadonna sleazball that thinks he is above the law or is he the all American Boy that has been wrongly accused? (He says it was consensual sex. His wife says she believes him.)

DA files charge against Bryant

No=Other than Sleazball

This may not be a fair assessment but I almost blame his wife as much as him. I can’t believe these over paid, over hyped jerks; one after another continue to behave like degenerate amoral morons. But what is even more disgusting is to see the public continue to support their behavior as evident by the lack of outcry for professional sports to demand these people clean up their act or be banned for life.

A wife is NOT responsible when her husband commits adultery, he is. This is true whether it's a professional athlete or a Tomahawk resident, speaking from experience. Kobe Bryant alone is responsible for the decision he made and needs to be held accountable. Only he and his wife can decide if it's worth trying to rebuild their marriage. Most womanizers don't change which Hiliary Clinton apparently prefers to deny.

Kobe Bryant is one more example of a grossly overpaid athlete who thinks he is above the rules of decency. Too many of them think they are entitled to sex with whomever they want whenever they want simply because they are a big name. We need to stop paying athletes obscene amounts of money. They are after all just playing a game, not helping others the way a doctor, nurse, or teacher does (and lots of other professions). When they can no longer play they most often become a nobody, only they are rich. Something is wrong when those who serve others make a whole lot less than those who play games for a living.

At first I actually believed him. He stayed out in the public eye with his wife at his side and said he`s totally innocent. After the DA decided that there`s enough evidence to press charges, it only took minutes for him to admit he had sex with the 19 year old. I think that when your showered in millions and become a superstar at such a young age, for playing a game, it goes to your head. You start to believe your above everyone, and can do what ever you want.
If it was "Kobe the Janitor", I doubt if his wife would be at his side , holding his hand ,with tears running down her face.
Before this trial is over, I bet more girls come out and admit to having sex with Kobe , even though he was married and a father.

I am not saying whether he is innocent or guilty, but it seems that many of you forget that accused are "innocent until proven guilty".
I always have some doubts when a girl hollers "Rape/sexual assault" that involves a well-known, rich personality.
Why does a 19 year old girl get herself into a situation like this in the first place?
Let's see if a lawsuit asking for a few million follows the innocent or guilty verdict.

"If it was "Kobe the Janitor" posted by Nurse Nell.

If he were "Kobe the Janitor" these charges would probably not have been brought in the first place!

My mind is not made up yet on the wife as my statement may have implied but I’m not leaning in her favor yet either. But Bryant is fully in the sleazball column on my ledger sheet. I’m not buying the “oh he’s so young and got every thing thrown at him so fast” defense. Married guy sleep with some one, he’s a sleazball, same if it’s a women. I don’t care if it was consensual or not. Other then the fact that he should go to jail if he did indeed rape her. But even if she is trying to exploit Bryant, he had no business messing around. I’m too old fashion I guess but you lie about sleeping around, you have it in you to lie and cheat about anything.

I do agree that if it was Kobe the Janitor she’d be gone and same thing with Hillary.

It reminds me of the joke about the guy that asks the girl if she would sleep with him for a million dollars and she says yes. Then he asks will you sleep with me for $20 and she gets all bent out of shape and says **** no, what kind of a girl do you think I am? He replies by saying we have already established that, we are just dickering over price now.

Kobe Bryant, Mark Chmura, etc. Playing a game & making millions. How can they be so stupid & risk losing the gravy train by thinking with their pricks?

If I had a multi million dollar contract, I'd hire some one to follow me around with a cattle prod. If it looked like I was going to do something stupid, their responsibility would be to "zap" me immediately!

Well, I'm old fashioned and have been brought up with good moral's! I don't agree with anyone having s** that live together for the sake of a free life...or anyone having s** for that matter that are unmarried! there you have it..
I don't feel a bit sorry for any of them.

Mark Chumra got off and EVERYONE knew he was guilty. I imagine Kobe will get off too, no matter how much evidence they have against him. In America , if your rich and famous , chances are you walk away free.

In my opinion, this is another story like Monica and Bill. Young girls that seize the moment and the opportunity. Monica was a "nobody" and look at her now. Some may not like her but she is making good money and has a name. Far cry from her internship. I am sorry, I feel she took advantage of the situation...she saw the opportunity and took it.

I agree Themacs,

They reward the Monicas and bust the gal on the street corner with a more honest approach, "Hey buddy want have a good time?"

I fail to see the difference in professions just the approach. But like they say marketing is everything.!

Bryant accuser had been hospitalized

A strange twist to this story. Information on the accuser and the wrong girl is being identified as the accuser and having her life destroyed.

Kobe is trying to make amends at home, he has purchased his wife an outrageously priced diamond ring. Wonder how he'll pay for it now that McDonald's and the like have cut all ties for endorsements. Oh, that's right he's an already overpaid athlete, I'm sure that ring was pocket change. Maybe a better amends would have been that cash donated to a worhwhile charity in his wife's name.

Unwelcome Fame: Guests Seek Bryant's Room

(AP Online 08/22 12:35:28)

Associated Press Writer=

EDWARDS, Colo. (AP) _ It's a world of $5 tins of breath mints,
wine tastings, croquet tournaments and art shows, where carefully
cultivated insulation from the outside world is paramount.
The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera has the Ibanez suite and the
Casals suite. Now there's an unofficial addition: the Kobe Bryant
suite, where the NBA's most bankable superstar is accused of
sexually assaulting a 19-year-old hotel concierge.
The case has brought attention in the form of unusually heavy
weekday bookings, streams of reporters and camera crews to the
guarded gatehouse and guests who want to book _ or at least sneak a
look at _ Room 35.
The notoriety is far from welcome here, where customers pay $300
to $700 a night to relax in understated elegance amid sweeping
views of the Rockies near the Vail ski resort.
Hotel managers are now refusing to speak to reporters, and
allowed only a single photographer and TV cameraman a rigidly
controlled visit to get file photos to share among the media.
Employees say they've been warned not to talk about what they
know or might have heard about goings-on that night to the media or
to the guests.
The tight lips are in keeping with a long-standing policy of
discretion, said Kris Staaf, who is with a public relations firm
hired by the hotel three days after Bryant was arrested.
``The privacy of the guests is something the hotel is very
respectful of and we'd like to keep it that way,'' Staaf said.
Bryant checked into the lodge on June 30, one day before a
scheduled knee surgery at a nearby clinic that caters to elite
professional sports.

IOWA CITY, Iowa, Aug 22, 2003 (AP WorldStream via COMTEX) -- A University of
Iowa student was charged with threatening to kill the woman accusing Kobe Bryant
of sexual assault.

John William Roche, 22, was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly leaving a
profanity-laced message on the accuser's answering machine July 27, according to
a federal grand jury indictment.

Roche is charged with making a threatening telephone call across state lines. If
convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

I find it very interesting that we even have hold pofessional athletes as role models to our youth. Throughout the history of professional sports the morals of athletes have been in question. Babe Ruth was a notorious womanizer just for an example. I am not by any means condoning their behavior, but I find it very interesting that we place these people on a pedestal while they are playing their respective sports, but as soon as we realize that maybe our "hero" is actually human and is capable of doing something wrong, we are the first in line to say what a terrible person they are. I don't teach my kids athletes are role models for society, but they can be role models for their sport.

Speak for yourself Rollover; I never held jocks in high esteem. I have always thought they were a bit sleazy. As a matter of fact I don’t put anyone up on a pedestal.

Doctor Dean Edell once told a caller that asked when doctors were going to get off their pedestals that doctors will get off their pedestals when patients get off their knees. I think the same thing applies to athletes, movie stars and entertainers.

I’d don’t even except them as role models for sports. How do you do that?

“Look here little Johnny, Magic Johnson screwed around on his wife got himself HIV and we have no idea how many other women he gave to, but that’s ok because he lead the league in triple doubles.”

Or may be its Jim Brown and O.J Simpson. “Hey little Johnny, Jim Brown has a little trouble staying out of jail for beating women and O.J he just flat slits their throats but hey that’s ok because they could take it into the end zone or break lose for the big gainer when we really needed it.”
