Does anyone know what happened to Candy Hanke? She was an old friend of mine in the 1970s and I moved away from the state and live on the west coast now. Someone told me a while back that she may have passed away and I would like to learn the truth.

Re: Candy Hanke..yes, it is true. She succumbed to A-Plastic Anemia around 1980. Quite tragic. I am her cousin and can answer any questions you may have.

Piker: Thank you for responding. I posted a private meassage for you, with some questions, and really appreciate your help. Even though we live in Oregon now, and are avid fall backapckers in the mountains, Northern Wisconsin is still my favorite place to visit in the fall.

Hello Friends of Candy Hanke,
I was Candy's college roomate and a very good friend. It was a surprize to find a question about her online. I saw her last, just before she died. I miss her and all the fun with fooseball, Wonder's Bar, and lots of friends. pv
