I can't help but remember when Company C was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961. It was a scary time for us as children, having to get our photos taken, waving goodbye tothe soldiers at the train in Heafford Junction. My uncle, Charlie Dane; Eddie Nyberg, Don Kind, and a lot of faces I can remember. My dad, Dan Smith, drove out and back to Fort Lewis, Washington. For all the families affected now, I offer my prayers.
