Tie to Tomahawk: Grew up in Tomahawk in the 50s and early 60s, left after High School in '64
I remember as a kid growing up in Tomahawk with the summer heat and humidity. When the heat came on for those weeks or three it was unbearable. Even as kids who didn't know any better we were drawn to the lake down where the old boathouses were at the entrance to Bradley Park as well as the waters around the Bradley Park camping area. Swimming, fishing, anything to get away from the darn heat. And then two weeks later it would pass and it would be 'normally warm', some rain, a little wind, and clouds, and maybe a little chilly. Steady good weather never seemed to be the norm. But I loved it all...

Now I'm reading about the killer heat waves in the Midwest, including Wisconsin. It was the humidity that really killed me.

You're all in my thoughts during this heat cycle and I hope you're staying as cool as you can be. I pity the folks that have to be out in that heat really working...that can be downright dangerous.

Please take care of yourselves, keep hydrated as much as possible (beer is ok if taken moderately), keep in the shade, and keep your activity to a minimum.

I would be interested in how folks are doing during this heat period? I think some of the old timer contributors must be holing up somewhere. Catfish must be at the bottom floating to minimize movement and energy. :-)

I worry when the heat gets this bad !!!

OK , coming up to the surface for a little conversation. True enuf about the heat and humidity. Couple days back I nearly passed out from the heat. Got dizzy and confused, (nothing new here tho) and a little wobbly making it back up the lawn to get inside. Dehydrated and dripping wet. You know we complain when there's too much snow, too much rain, too hot, too cold. too overcast, too sunny, too full sand too hungry, we just love to complain. complaining ain't worth a dime cuz ALL things will pass. .....
and KMart, speaking of the old timers on this board , they're all gone. Maybe in the winter the peeps will vegetate more indoors at the putors. Good to hear your voice again. Keep your freak flag flying and happy trails to you.

Glad to see you've surfaced Catfish. You just stay inside until it's safe again. I'm hoping your "old timers" reference didn't include me? ;-)

Yes Deb, you're one of the old timers. Not chronologically old, just one of the old gang that was so active when we were all bored enuf to bantor and giggle much more often. However if you prefer to be called a spring chicken then so be it. Peep, peep!

Spring Chicken, I wish! Come winter I'm sure we'll see more banter. Keep cool.

Catfish...."freak flag" !!!! How dare you  . Peace, bro !!!!

Deb, good to hear from you...how's the heat in your area? Chippewa Falls area, right?

If I was living in WI I'd be on the lake fishing...not checking the TLMB. Can't blame folks for keeping low.

Drink beer...not Point beer though...unless it's improved in the last 40 years.
