What should be done about North Korea?

Postby abnerman » Thu Jul 06, 2006 12:37 am

North Korea launched 3 "illegal test" missiles today (as the government of the country has made a regular habit of in the past months/years),
one of which was a new long-range missile actually capable of reaching the U.S. (It malfunctioned during testing). All 3 landed in the Sea of Japan.
North Korea has been warned by the U.N. and also warned by several countries independently, and has scoffed at U.N. sanctions and shown open hostility and issued threats towards many other countries.

I personally think something needs to be done in the near future to remove this
Psycho-Asian-midget 70's-Elvis impersonating little maniac of a dictator from power.

If they had oil then I am sure "the Bush" would have already sent my son there also. They DO have weapons of mass distruction, and for what ever reason that fact does not seem to matter to "the Bush" Go figure! One country it matters and the next it does not. If the UN presents a united front it help, however, I believe we (the USA) could distroy any missles sent this way before it/they get here. Maybe we should just let them kill themselves off.

Ya, because any leader would quickly send troops into a country KNOWN to have nukes. A country that absolutely would not fail to shoot them at South Korea (where we have a lot of troops) or Japan (a major ally and trading partner). Even if the missile defense system was 95% reliable would you take that risk or see if you can do everything you can to wait it out.

Iraq and Iran are a different beast. They are surrounded by "similar" nations and allies of their own. North Korea is isolated from the world for the most part. The only country that seems to want to deal with them in most cases is China. Impose strong sanctions over time and they are cut completely out. Stop sending food aid and eventually they would have to revolt from within (although I suspect the current leaders would simply launch a nuke in response).

No offense but nuclear war is a HUGE factor...

It's China's turn to play policeman of the world.

I agree that China has to be the "probation officer" in this situation.
It seems like they really are the only country that really openly supports North Korea...
which means two things.

1. North Korea might be more inclined to listen to them.. and..
2. China SHOULD be the one telling the North Korean dictator to cool it.

It's probable that China sent them the gear in the first place.

May be it's time for parking lot warnings for North Korea, Iran, Iraq, or whoever: Fine, develop what you want. But drop one on us or an ally & expect to be made a parking lot. Neutron bombs would depopulate without hurting most of the buildings + short lived fallout.

China don't tell North Korea anything. Korea's running things.
By the way, has anyone seen the movie, "Team America-World Police" hilarious, but so true! Rent it and watch it.

Nuke them. Maybe the particulate matter in the atmosphere after the bombing could induce rain around here.
