Something a friend sent me that expresses his sentiments.

They really need to add a like button. Good one Old Scout!!

How is everyone doing otherwise? Any predictions as to what our winter is going to bring? Will gas prices continue to drop? Any suggestions for winter reading once I have my Christmas knitting done? Will the Packers make it through to the play-offs? Who's cuter Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre?

Dang I'm missing Tomahawk!

Deb, I am not Old Scout but I pretend to be when I'm home alone with only my Tomahawk....and yup, we need a 'like' button :D :D

1) Probably just fine
2) Cold and snow
3) Probably not
4) Anything by John Grisham or Vince Flynn
5) Not all the way through
6) Depends on what age you like your guys

I miss Tomahawk too !!! :( :( :(

Thank you Old Scout, otherwise known as kmartell!! LOL I've read quite a few of Grisham's works over the years, but never Flynn. I will check him out. I went on a reading frenzy this summer starting with the Hunger Games trilogy and ending with the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Decided I need to tame it down a bit.
Oh on the Rodgers/Favre question, both cute in their own right.

Deb, I just 'discovered' Flynn. He has a character, Mitch Rapp, who does hit jobs for the CIA. Fun, flowing reading...worth a try !!! Lots of interesting intrigue, double crossing, lying, back stabbing, etc with MI6 and other foreign government spy agencies !!!

So Ken, I take it you enjoy the Fifty Shades trilogy?

kmartell, that does sound like an author I would enjoy, thanks.

Doing just fine all things considered. These golden years are not all that great !
"Every Day is a bonus"

The way the weather has been lately it could go either way. Warm one day cold the next, but I am predicting a mild winter with not a lot of snow.

Gas may drop a little more but I don't see any great amount. Too much going on in the middle east and too much uncertainty.

I enjoy a good Tom Clancy.

I think the Packers will make the play-offs but will need a good run at the end of the season like they had a couple of years ago and a lot of luck to keep the key players healthy. Also the defense has to step up to stop the big plays that seem to always bite them .

No comment ! :D

The real Old Scout !

Quite a while back I was wondering if everyone was sleeping or if everyone died. It was so dead for so long I quit checking. Now I've become sufficiently bored enuf to check the board again, and what do you know, some of the old blokes and blokets are still around. KMartell, Deb, Old Scout, etc. What ever happened to Jeff Boetcher? Has he had enuf of this nonsense or what? It's becoming winter real quick now and I'm sure the cabin fever we will all be experiencing again will promote some more activity again on the board here. So here goes gang, occasionally some more BS from the "bottom feeder' Catfish!

I'm still around...hanging out in Nor Cal Bay Ara waiting for the rains to begin. The temp is cold today, cloudy and 67dF, so I got to bring out the long sleeve shirts. Everyone is waiting for the last minute to do their Thanksgiving Shopping...which is par for the course. We got our Turkey from CostCo last week, so we're set.

Wish the Feds and State could be more effective on the East Coast Sandy disaster. Pray that the Mid-East doesn't go into full fledged war. Hope that the Feds can somehow come together to make this country work instead of driving it into the toilet...problem is WE elected the same people who were there the last four years...got nobody to blame but ourselves. Like the Who's old song...Meet the new boss...same as the old boss.

Wish like heck the country wasn't so divided and the politicians weren't so freaking partisan, self serving, and generally crooked...and I mean on both sides. But I have a lot to Thankful for....for that I'm very Thankful over this Thanksgiving Holiday and always...

Now that I'm drawing Social Security I want to thank all you working stiffs for contributing to my monthly check !!!   btw...it'll take me living about 15 more years before I'm really 'taking' from the pile...if it lasts that long !!!

God protect us all and bless America!!! Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and the same when Christmas comes !!!

Keep warm and safe my fellow Tomahawk bothers and sisters !!! :D :D :D

p.s. This is an unrelated topic but when did 'killing a deer' or 'shooting a deer' change into 'harvesting' ??? Maybe this subject is so out of date that it's not worth bringing it up but I must have missed those years when the terminology changed. It's funny and strange to me but it's probably common place to everyone now... :o :o

I was really feeling a lot of sympathy for you when we hit a high of 21 deg. today. 67 would be T-shirt weather.

When the PC freaks decided that it might offend someone if we mentioned killing something.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Nothing like stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes &gravy, cranberrys, and the other good things that go with it and finished off with Pumpkin pie. :D :D

Then the turkey isn't the only thing that is stuffed !

What happened to the tree at end of the boulevard that was used previously as a lighted Christmas tree?

The wind blew the tree over early this fall.
