I no it was a crazy idea. Are you tring to tell me that some one that works and sweats hard all day and is able to still make ends meet without having to milk employees for all they are worth are not successful?
What's up with that?
Just because a person wears a suit(I call it dressing to impress) does not make them better. Heck any one can go out and buy a power suit and carry a brief case.
It's easy to get someone to do your dirty work for you and pay them peanuts.
Tommy Tompson was from a small Wisconsin town(Elroy) and I think he forgot how hard it is to find a job and make a good living in these little one horse towns.
I am not looking for a fight here. I just have some good old fashion down to earth back to basics kind of thinking.

I just thought I would mention that I have a couple of relatives that held government jobs in Waukesha WI and Man Oh Man if people only new the real men that wore the suits. In one case a nephew ran against his own uncle. Talk about a family war :D ;)

We are talking the president of the country here…not some Joe or Jane Schmooe on the street and when the biggest problems facing a nation are nearly all linked to huge sums of monies and how they are handled…… Yes!

I’m not even sure what you mean with this statement?

Are you suggesting that anyone that has employees has to be milking them? My guesses there are a lot of people that love their jobs and **** glad to have them. I know I did when I worked for other people. Never felt I was being “milked”. More like given an opportunity!

I will also suggest to you that someone that finds themselves in those situations where they are being milked, are even less qualified to be president.

JFlosum,
You are missing the point. Yes the U.S. has a big problem with money. Money's have not been being used where it would do the most good for all. The biggest problems we have is that the good business are leaveing WHY do you think that is. With this leaves the jobs. With the jobs, goes the money that we need to keep things going for the American people. My idea was that if someone was put in office that KNEW the real value of a dollar the money would be put to better use than it is now. I feel that someone that has a little greese under their nails would have a better understanding than someone that is just sitting up there on high telling everyone how to do the job and never have ever done it them selves. A lot of big business people that was put on the top of the ladder by Daddy never had to stuggle and look at the whole picture.
Some one who had sat there with their last 10.00 in their pocket would more than likely put it to the best use. No $100.00 hair cuts or $5000.00 suits. No $500.00 hammers. Get it now.
There is college smarts and then there is street smarts. Each is just as good except that the street smart people don't have to use large words to make them selves appear to be smarter.
Success is only in a persons mind. Each person is successful in there own way. Money does not show success. It could mean that your Grandfather was rich and you got lucky.

Tie to Tomahawk: Work
Please, don't anyone try to tell me Bush has any conception of the value of the dollar. He just increased everyone's future tax bill by $500 per person because of his war expenditures. He still thinks he gave them a tax break. Of course if you are rich enough to buy a Hummer for your business you can deduct up to $75,000 so I guess there is some evidence of who is benefiting from his malfeasance.

WOW! Aphephilia can't believe her eyes! Marty, was that really you who wrote that post? Aphephilia did not spot ONE spelling error! You must have gotten in touch with your dictionary and spell checker. :)
I didn't know that you were a truck driver.

I don't think there is a spell checker on this board anywhere, at least not that I know of. You would have to open a MS Word document and type your post in there, do the spell check, then copy and paste it into here.

Amen, Marty.

Look to Syria for Saddam's hidden toys.
