Tomahawk – Anglers and the public alike can help raise money for an important cause while enjoying a day on the water by taking part in the 4th annual Jiggin for Jayden Memorial Fishing Tourney being held on Lake Mohawksin Saturday, July 20.
Jayden Davy was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). At just six-years-old, Jayden passed away on July 16, 2015 following a third and final open heart surgery during his short life. Event organizers note Jayden was a big fan of spending time on the water and fishing, and the tournament being held in his memory will help fight back following the tragedy.
Previously the tournament raised money for the Children’s Heart Foundation and this year all proceeds will go to support the local youth mentoring program, Kinship of Tomahawk. This year the fishing contest is being held out of Bradley Park with fishing to start at 8 a.m. and fish registration to take part at 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the most panfish and game fish registered. To sign up to fish anglers just need to purchase a T—Shirt prior to or on the day of the event.
Those wanting to support the cause without wetting a line can still take part, as Jiggin for Jayden will feature a bunch of additional fun for the whole family at Bradley Park, including 50/50 raffles, bucket raffles, gun raffle, food and refreshments and Kryptonite Entertainment will perform from noon to 6 p.m.
One hundred percent of proceeds raised from Jiggin for Jayden will go to support Kinship of Tomahawk.
